Let’s start with the good. The location worked well for our trip — it was fairly easy to take day trips from this home base. The number of beds is great for a larger group (we had 5 girls, so everyone got their own bed), though I wouldn’t describe them as particularly comfortable (unless you prefer a firm bed). The pool looked relatively nice but due to the rainy weather we were unable to enjoy the space.
The not so great… when we first arrived the house was 45 degrees. We managed to track down a couple blankets to wrap up in but it really didn’t warm up fully until the next day. I understand the weather was abnormally cold, but I feel the host could have prepared by turning on the heat prior to our arrival. Overall, the house was not very clean. It had ants (like, a lot — one morning I woke up to one crawling up my arm), noticeable mold in the bathroom, and everything seemed to have a layer of dust/grime on it. In the kitchen, the oven is held together with duct tape. The walls have schmears of random dirt and grime everywhere. Blankets had stains. It appeared the house had not been properly cleaned.
The overall condition of the home was not as we expected, especially given the price. While it has certain amenities that were beneficial for a girls trip (# of beds, dining room seating, garage for car rental), overall I would not choose to stay here again.
