Wonderful Place
We absolutely loved staying here. We were in town for Thanksgiving week and it was great to return to this peaceful spot every day after spending time with family and friends. The setting is beautiful and the cottage is bright, cheery and spacious. The private outdoor area is a real plus too. Highly recommend!

Cute cottage in the heart of wine country
This place is cozy and our host, Judy, was sweet and attentive to make sure our stay was perfect. Loved how stocked the kitchen and bathroom were. If we would have forgotten something, it would have been available. Great outdoor sitting area with a heater for the chilly mornings.

Wonderful vacation
This cottage is so comfortable. Sit with your coffee in your private backyard in the morning being entertained by hummingbirds, and watch the colors change on the mountain when the sun sets from your living room window. Extra special -- after a 6 hour flight and 2 hour bus ride, having wine, cheese and crackers stocked was great. All the condiments, pots and utensils to cook full meals. We can't wait to come back again! Judy is an excellent host.

Perfect location, great cabin, and amazing host
Hosts were so nice and communicative, and stocked the kitchen with everything we could have wanted and more, including a bottle of wine and cheese and crackers ! The location is right in the middle of wine country and so close to great wineries which we visited. Also went to the state park nearby and had a great hike !! Highly recommend this property and I hope to return !!

Sonoma Anniversary
Spent four wonderful nights in this immaculate and spacious cottage. Ideal for two people. Lovely patio with umbrella table to enjoy the evenings and very peaceful nights. Judy thinks of everything to make your stay comfortable.

Great escape
My wife and I were lucky to find this peaceful retreat that was perfectly located to jump off to where we wanted to visit. The house had been stocked with food, wine, and had several other amenities that we haven’t ever seen in a rental. It felt like home the moment we settled in. I was able to do the Hood mountain hike, which is across the road from the property, and look out all the way to the Ocean and see the property right below the mountain as well. We would often end our days with a glass of wine and a stroll around the property to enjoy the wildlife. Our hosts checked in on us and made sure our experience was easy to enjoy. The whole experience of staying there was the perfect retreat for us without our kiddos.

Great place in wine country.
We have stayed at this location several times and it never disappoints. Judy is such a great host. She always makes sure the little things are covered. It is so relaxing and comfortable. This time we were greeted to a nice Christmas floral arrangement to help make the holidays special. Judy is super responsive if there is ever a concern and she checked on us during the stay to make sure everything was okay. Love this place.

Perfect for a couple
The speakeasy was clean, light, comfortable and spacious. The tv was easy to use with directions on how to use it. The bathroom was newly remodeled with a great shower and lots of personal supplies. The kitchen was stocked well and even provided milk, juice, soda and a bottle of wine. The owner communicated very well and accurately. We would definitely stay here again.

Charming and Quiet Home Away From Home
Location was ideal with easy access to Sonoma, Yountville, and Santa Rosa. For two of us, the cottage was the perfect size. Amenities were aplenty and stocked with everything we could have needed. The wine and cheese in the fridge were a nice touch. The outdoor heat heat lamp on the patio was great for cool evenings. Judy and Dave were wonderful hosts; available if we needed and respected our privacy. Learning more about Sally’s story was neat, too. All in all, it was the perfect relaxing getaway and we hope to return!

Cozy, clean and quiet cottage
We loved staying at the Speakeasy Cottage! Judy and Dave are wonderful hosts! We arrived late on our first day and there was local cheese and their own branded wine awaiting us in the fridge which was so wonderful after a long travel day. There was even coffee, cereal, and milk for breakfast the next day. They also provided a list of area recommendations which was greatly appreciated. All these extra touches made our stay very memorable. The cottage itself was very spacious and had a beautiful outdoor fenced-in area to enjoy morning coffee and afternoon grilling. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The hosts provided everything you need for several days stay. We will be back to the Speakeasy cottage for sure.

Lots of little touches make perfect stay in wine country
We have stayed at this location at least five times now and it never disappoints. Judy does a great job with some many little touches. the fridge is full of good things, kitchen well stocked for cooking and lots of nice touches in the bathroom. This time we had trouble with the cable TV and Judy got it fixed quickly. The internet connection is great for anyone wanting to work from anywhere. Close to several great wineries. Highly recommend.

Excellent Cottage
The cottage was very comfortable, impeccably clean, well located, and supplied in a tremendously thoughtful way. The bed was very comfortable and the fenced-in patio with seating for four and a charcoal grill very welcome. Judy is a splendid owner and a pleasure with whom to work.

Birthday trip
We had a wonderful stay in the Cottage and it was very easy to get everywhere. We really appreciated it being so well stocked! The cottage was lovely and very clean. Judy was very responsive before our arrival and made a point of introducing herself when we were outside. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the Napa/Sonoma area.

Great weekend getaway
We had a great stay at the Speakeasy cottage. The checkin process is easy, the cottage was clean, and well stocked with everything you would need for a relaxing getaway. We particularly enjoyed the wild back story of Sally Stanford and plan to read her autobiography when we get home. We hope to return for another stay soon.

Great experience
We stayed in the Speakeasy cottage for a couple nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The location is ideal for the Sonoma valley wineries and Napa is only a 30 minute ride away. The cottage was very comfortable for the two of us and Judy and David were great hosts. Highly recommend this place. Great value!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful setting.
Our stay at the Speakeasy Cottage was great! the home is clean and well appointed with everything necessary for comfort. The property is close to Santa Rosa Airport and Kenwood and is surrounded by multiple vinyards, and other points of interest. it's a quick scenic drive to both Sonoma and Napa. Great location very peaceful
Judy and David Thomas were excellent hosts, they anticipate absolutely any need you may have. We have good communication and really easy check in. The cottage is locate close to many vineyards. I really was surprise to find the refrigerator complety full with basic needs, milk, butter, water, beer, wine, cheese... and in the kitchen you will find many spices, olive oil, coffee, filters, etc... We feel so good from the start that after a week we add couple days more. You just need to bring yourself everything else will be there. Very comfortable retreat
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Speakeasy cottage! David provided timely information about things to do before our arrival and Judy was a very gracious host. The cottage is spacious with many unexpected amenities avaliable... milk, coffee, cereal, orange juice, bottle of wine, cheese, beer mugs in the freezer (nice!), binoculars and flash lights to borrow. Judy also brought over lawn chairs that we used at Funky Friday at Hood Mansion. The cottage was a very comfortable retreat after our excursisons around wine country and the coast. The bedroom was bigger than it appeared in the photos. Highly recommend!

Beautiful, Restful Stay!
Had the pleasure of spending a long weekend in the Speakeasy Cottage at Sally Stanford Ranch over the 4th of July holiday. What a great property and experience. First of all, the hosts, David and Judy, were fantastic. Easy communication, easy check in. The cottage was sparkling clean, and had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. The property is beautiful and peaceful. Conveniently located to most Sonoma Co. wineries, great restaurants, great places to walk/run. We felt perfectly relaxed here. Will most definitely be back on our next trip to wine country. Thank you!

Lovely cottage in great location
This cute cottage is almost across the street from St. Francis winery! It is very spacious and the outdoor patio/courtyard is delightful. David and Judy are great hosts, providing wine, cheese and other stocked items for breakfast. The house is perfect for 2 people with plenty of room to relax. I will definitely stay here again.

Unexpected Gem!
My husband and I were in town for a friend's wedding and made a long weekend out of it to also celebrate our anniversary. This was our first time to the area and were hesitant to stay at a place with an address right on the highway, but let me assure you, once you drive onto the ranch you forget the highway is there. There are a few other cottages on the property that seemed to also be occupied but it was completely quiet day and night there. We had the pleasure of meeting Judy while walking our first day and she is just as pleasant as previous reviewers have mentioned. The communication with David throughout the reservation process was also great. They are both quick to respond and very helpful if you need a little guidance on things to do. The pictures of the cottage do not do it justice. It is quite roomy and very comfortable. Judy and David provide so many extra luxuries like orange juice, cereal and milk, a bottle of wine with crackers and cheese and much more. They've really done everything to try and make the cottage meet everyone's needs and then some. It was a great weekend of relaxation with plenty to do within close proximity of the ranch, but also plenty of accommodations to allow us to relax out back when we wanted. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Beautiful & quiet property!
Judy & David accommodated our late check in due to flight times and pick-ups. The Speakeasy Cottage was fully stocked and ready for us. They provided everything they promised. Judy and David, Thank you both for allowing us to use your rental. It was exactly as advertised. We had a very nice stay, everything worked well, and we took advantage of the grill to make a great dinner on the patio. The one issue we had with the umbrella on the patio was resolved immediately Judy. thanks so much and I enjoyed our conversation. The location is perfect for visiting Sonoma and Napa valleys and the surrounding communities and parks. I hope we get back to the area again, and if we do I will hope that this property is available. Cottage in a charming country setting
We had all the comforts of home, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. Ancient oak trees, spring bulbs bloom along with wildflowers, magnolia trees blooming, grapevines, and orchards on the property with just enough space and privacy between the cottages. Love this area close to Glen Ellen/Jack London Park, also convenient to Calistoga for spa treatments and Sonoma (our favorite restaurant just off the square). Comfortable furniture, pillows, bed, inviting patio and hammock (though March rain prevented using them), and a back porch with screen door allowing fresh air and bird songs to float into the bedroom. Baseboard heating and comforters on the bed worked perfectly to keep us warm. We will definitely return!

What a special getaway spot!
We were in need of a getaway and this was the perfect spot! Our cottage was cozy on the rainy day and we enjoyed the patio on the sunny day. Peaceful and relaxing.
We just stayed here for 3 nights. We loved it. It was very peaceful and wonderful to come back to after a day of visiting wineries and sipping wine. The size was just right. We spent time in and around Sonoma and Santa Rosa; the ranch is located right in the middle. The grounds are very well manicured. The roses are beautiful. Cheese, wine, butter, juice, bottled water and other items were stocked in the kitchen. We appreciated these details. We highly recommend the Speakeasy Cottage and we will stay here again.

Perfect Getaway Retreat!
Weather you’re hiding from the IRS, the mob, or just your local bookie, this charming house is the perfect escape! From the moment we arrived Judy made us feel welcomed and safe. The Speakeasy cottage was very clean, nicely stocked with a bottle of wine, coffee, cereal, and milk! The cozy patio comes complete with a nice new table, bbq grill, chirping birds and privacy fence. 😎 A truly wonderful stay with a wonderful host! My husband and I stayed four nights in this quaint and private cottage to celebrate our anniversary. The ranch is in the middle of wine country so was an excellent location for wine tasting and visiting wineries. We had chilled wine and cheese waiting for us when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with butter, juice, coffee, salt/pepper, olive oil and many other basics. The house was clean and had a beautiful, private yard where we could enjoy the lovely California weather. We loved seeing deer graze near the cottage. Judy was responsive and helpful when we had questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful retreat, and responsive and professional care by hosts. Bring your binoculars! Red shouldered hawks live on the property!! All of the touches were so appreciated and lovely. We even got to use their convenient laundry facilities with perfume free detergent. Wonderful snacks, coffee, organic half and half, and wine were waiting for us. Thank you Judy and David! Clean, Nice, Well Stocked and Well located
We have stayed at this property three + times now and have always had a pleasant experience. The house is clean and very well stocked. It is well located to nice wineries and restaurants yet very quite. The only reason we did not give five stars is because we like to cook and would prefer a gas grill instead of the charcoal grill. Recommend highly to anyone wanting to stay in Sonoma Valley.
