About 15 minutes from the airport we arrive at Desiterra resort, located on the east side of the island, a tranquil beautiful spot directly overlooking the sea. Stunning views of other islands of Anafi and Amorgos. The dawn sunrise is simply breathtaking my advice is get up witness it even if you have to go back to bed. The resort is a 5 minute walk along the beach to a lovely little cafe restaurant by the local harbour again amazing for sunrise.
If you are a runner the roads are reasonably safe this time of year. Get that dawn run done.
The resort is isolated but for us that was perfect the resort runs a shuttle bus dependent on your activities and budget it's this or a hire car. The resort will organise the hire for you but you can get better deals.
We hired a car and have litterly been everywhere.
We stayed in The blue monkey, (wall painting from ancient akrotiri) traditional vaulted ceiling villa tiled throughout. Air-conditioning hot and cold, walk in shower with rain shower and hand shower. The bed is situated on a mezzanine overlooking the lounge kitchen area. The kitchen is well appointed kettle coffee machine (illy iperespresso) odd pods. You can buy locally but room service give you two daily. The cleaners are meticulous in their attention to detail.
