“When I checked in I was basically thrown a key and shown to my room. Don't know if they remembered me from the previous stay a few days earlier but either way they should have made an effort to describe amenities and so on.
This visit I ate dinner at the restaurant and while the food was good I had to wait over an hour from ordering until the meal was served.
The outdoor seating is facing the road outside the hotel and made it a less enjoyable experience.

“We stayed at Emoyeni Gardens twice during our trip to São Tomé, before and after visiting Príncipe.
During our first stay, we initially had a smaller room with a balcony, but because of a technical problem we were moved to a suite. The suite was really spacious and comfortable, and we liked it so much that we upgraded our second reservation to a suite as well.
Breakfast is fairly simple but was fine for us: bread and buns, ham, cheese, yogurt, muesli, cake, coffee and tea. There were no eggs...
“Bara euro kontanter. Visa/Master funkar ej. Inte ens ta ut från bank. Växla till lokalt- på gatan eller som växel på affär. Växla på bank-stor avgift. Euro kan tas ut enklast via western union, om online- tjänst funkar. Betalalsen helst innan resan, via nätet. Unitel simkort finns köpa i receptionen. Annars wi-fi om du är nära reception/ restaurang. Mat och myggskydd funkar bra. Kolla att"stör ej" skyllt finns. Annars blir ni utkörda från rummet tidigt, för städning. Även vid online check-in,...
“- No sand beach - only rocks - but yes, a pool.
- Renovation is needed.
- Very expensive.
- ‘Junior suite’ is a joke - an extra small room with a sofa - no window.
- Nobody speak (or understand) simple English.
- We booked ‘with view over the sea’. Ha - behind all the palm trees!!
- Sunny and warm climate - that’s why we came for (good for the extremely poor Sao Tome people).”
