“We enjoyed our stay very much at Painter’s Lodge. Located right on the water, with a private pier, we soaked in the views and loved that an orca swam by! Staff was very helpful and accomodating. The grounds were well kept, the room was clean. We would have liked to have a screen on the window so we could keep the window open in the evening.”

“Personally would not stay here again. Pros: cheap, close to gas station for snacks, drinks and sandwiches Cons: no housekeeping, the maid never did up the room in the 4 nights we stayed, beds too high, my 90 yr old mom fell out of bed so they removed the box spring which made it too soft and she couldn't get out, no breakfast at all. They charged us more than the booked expedia price. Would not really recommend this one”

“First time in Courtenay and had a pretty chill stay. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, shower water pressure was pretty good, AC kept the room cold. Front desk staff was very helpful, literally can’t complain about anything”

“Very simple basic motel. But very clean and updated. Lovely helpful gal at the desk. Great location for exploring the area. Wonderful inlet views. Will definitely stay again when in Campbell River.”

“Jen helped me with my bags and took the time to talk. A lovely woman. She’s so welcoming. The room and bathroom were as spotless as always. The bed and pillows are always so comfortable and the location is right in town so you can walk everywhere. The lake is a short drive as well as hiking trails. I love the old hardwood floors , and comfy furnishings in the common areas. The kitchen is so spacious and has 2 stoves , big fridge and anything you need from Brita coffee makers to plates cups and...

“I love staying here, it's a beautiful property and rooms are always perfect. My only negative this time was the staff seemed new (or tired) when trying to get a drink outside by the pool. It seemed others were frustrated as well and it wasn't overly busy. I know off days happen so it wasn't a big deal. They were very very kind so that made up for it. It just makes the experience 4 stars instead of 5.”

“It was less like a hotel and more like a small appartment which gave one the "homey" feel while staying at a location away from home. Obviously love that they are pet-friendly, as this was a must.”

“The place is right on the river, it was very clean and had all amenities as listed. The host was extremely communicative and provided all accurate details for Late checkin and was available to provide additional things as needed. Kitchen was very well kept with all typical kitchen accessories. Very Quiet and relaxing, Water flowing in the back yard with green lawn was amazingly beautiful .”

“Room was clean. But although heat was turned off, no AC and the fan/ionizer did nothing to cool the room; opened the window the max 6” it would go (3rd floor) and room was so hot we couldn’t sleep together and didn’t even use a sheet. Breakfast was typical hotel fare, overcooked and bland. Parking areas had lots of garbage and discarded cigarette butts and outside hotel appearance was extremely aged and tacky. If we hadn’t already prepaid we would have left.”
