Award-winning eco villa with private pool, steps to Playa Matapalo

The architectural signature of BaliBala: a teak-built home from the No Footprint House series by architecture studio A-01, a sustainable prefab design recognised internationally, including a public-vote win at the Dezeen Awards and an International Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum.

The house is organised to stay open to its surroundings: light, air and jungle sound move through the living spaces, and the boundary between inside and outside is deliberately thin. Single-level, open-plan living with two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, microwave) and a spacious living area.

- Main bedroom: 1 king bed, ensuite bathroom
- Second bedroom: 2 single beds, ensuite bathroom

OUTSIDE
A private pool, open all year, sits within a fully fenced garden, with a hammock and sun loungers. The waves are audible from the house and Playa Matapalo is just steps away. Beach essentials are provided. Wildlife passes through daily.

PRIVACY
The house has its own private entrance, its own gate separate from the safari tents, and private parking, so it stays entirely self-contained.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Deliberately absent: TV, washer-dryer and air-conditioning. The design relies on ceiling fans, shade and ocean air, and mosquito nets are provided.
- Safe on site. Housekeeping is available at extra cost.
- You will be personally welcomed by Linda or Flory, our local host.
- All ages welcome. The property sits in open jungle and is not a childproof environment, so adults should supervise children, around the pool and generally.

THE AREA
Two restaurants and a small supermarket are about 15 minutes' walk away, and Manuel Antonio National Park is about a 50-minute drive. A car is recommended, as public transport is not available.
