“The hotel it's small but super clean and well done. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom huge. The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older...”

“If you can afford to splurge, this place is a treasure. Service like I’ve never experienced, and beautiful rooms and a great location. The restaurants are fancy French, also extremely good, but we didn’t dine in. This place is world-class.😊”

“This is a truly special place... a highlight of our two week trip to Japan. From the magical location to our beautiful room (that tub!) to the amazing, kind and attentive staff, it was every romantic dream we had of Kyoto come true. Thank you Ishibekoji MUAN!!!”

“We loved this hotel, and had a great 4 day stay in Kyoto. Very upscale and peaceful, in a quiet, non-touristy neighbourhood, with lots of convenient travel options. And we ended up in nearby underground jazz bar Zac Baran twice, as well as a tiny local restaurant about 15 minutes walk west, same side of street as hotel, called kawahigashi (it also says 'food and beverage' in English outside). We were the only people on a weeknight, with a single chef/server doing everything, and the food was...

“I loved this hotel. It had the best bathtub I have ever used in Japan. The layout of the room was great. It was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel!”
