Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Bear Point but we would chooe another property due to concerns belw. We stayed from Sunday to Saturday.
Pros:
-We are a family of 5 with 3 kids between 9 and 21 so the room layout with 2 beds in 1 room and a king in the master worked for us.
-the location is excellent! Top of hill. 1 mile outside of Pigeon Forge, 4 miles outside of Gatlinburg
-bears on the property every morning around 10am. We saw momma and her 2 cubs right off the rear deck (kinda scary also)
Cons:
-2nd bedroom has a sliding glass door which does not lock, its broke. They tried to "fix" this by cutting a piece of wood and inserting it in the slide of the door, but its about 4 inches to short, so the door can be opened at any time. Not good with kids.
- the roof leaks right into the kitchen. We had bad storms 1 night and woke up to a mess in the kitchen. Leaks directly from the vent hood. We reported it immediately but nobody showed up so it continued to leak right into an electric stove
- during the storms, we lost power around 7pm. Absolutely no candles or working flashlights on property. 1 flashlight had no batteries.
- if you plan on cooking anything, you better bring your pantry, refrigerator, your entire kitchen bc nothing is provided. Salt /pepper, etc. This would include dryer sheets and washer detergent.
When you choose a cabin to spend a week in, its the little things that makes a trip a little more enjoyable. The leak and lock are more than concerning
