5 Stars – Peaceful, Cozy, and Perfectly Accessible

My son asked for a fishing trip to celebrate his high school graduation, and this place was everything we hoped for. The home is cozy and unique, kind of like a bunkhouse, and just 50 feet from the water, which made it perfect for fishing anytime we wanted.One of our favorite features was the large window wall with a stunning view of the Albemarle Sound. We enjoyed the scenery and wildlife. We saw dolphins, sea otters, and even a curious groundhog during our stay.It was also very accessible, with only two steps to enter and a flat, unobstructed path all the way to the water. As someone who uses a walker, I truly appreciated that.Many evenings, we ended the day with a fire by the water. It was a relaxing and perfect way to close out each day. For our second week, I worked from home with my office set up facing the Sound. It made work time feel like a vacation.The location is ideal too, just 30 minutes to Elizabeth City and a little under an hour to the Outer Banks. We loved it so much, we extended our stay. Aunika, the host, was extremely responsive and helpful from start to finish.Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!!!

Hubby and I celebrating our 35th anniversary. The location was private, quiet and mere feet from the water. The house was charming and exactly what we needed. We had fun exploring the Kitty Hawk and Virginia Beach area. The screen porch provided great protection from the insects while allowing the sounds of the water to lull you into relaxation.
