âIt was our familyâs first time staying at a machiya. It was an easy place to find upon arrival in Kyoto. The house was lovely. The tea ceremony at check-in along with the Japanese sweets were much appreciated. They were able to help us arrange for delivery of our luggage onwards to our next city. âTop service. Staff is super friendly and serviceminded. Room is big and everything in it is top class and new. Hotel hasn't a restaurant or dining room so breakfast is served to the room. Breakfast is good but almost to much. Beds har a bit hard as always in hotels.â

Itâs located right by the city center, and we could find many nice cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. The water pipe? drainage? sound was rather loud when guests above our room was using shower, but otherwise everything was great! We would gladly stay here again.â

âStayed 8 nights in this small hotell. Everything was perfect including location, personell, room and breakfast. It is not cheap for sure but you get what you pay for with a huge room, beautiful bathroom and service minded staff. Hotel is also so small that it is very calm and you basically feel like you are the only guests.â
âGreat little hotel. Very quiet and calm. Great showers. Lots of pastries and drinks, which solved the problem of breakfast, especially for us, as we woke up at 5 am most days. (We noticed that some guests filled up bags of croissants after checking out, which was really sad to see, as they just emptied out the box of pastries into a plastic bag and left other guests nothing.) there is a 7/11 and a metro line right next to it. And some nice restaurants around too. â
