It's a little off the main street, so it's quiet and peaceful, but cross the main road, and you'll be right in the heart of the action in Takayama with restaurants, bars, and shops. Parking is quick and easily accessible as well. The hotel is well-appointed and clean, the staff are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, and they provided great tips. The unique selling point of this hotel is the sento on the top floor. Taking a hot bath outside in the cold was outstanding. I love sentos so I went here every night I stayed in the hotel.

The bed was too hard for my tastes, it was quite uncomfortable. I don't know how many times I have written this in reviews for hotels in mainly Asia, but I can't understand how people invest millions in opening a hotel but skimp on the beds. Too many times I have slept (or tried to sleep) in a continental bed that is missing the top mattress. "
