We visited Melia Sitges in the beginning of August.
The hotel itself is located on a hill above the port of Sitges which - in our deluxe room right above the port - gives an almost 180 degrees panorama of the Mediterranean sea.
From the check-in to the check-out the personnel was really great and friendly (especially Salvadore in the reception). The rooms were clean and (if you have the need for it) you get fresh towels twice per day.
The pool area had sun from approx. 10:30 CET until late in the afternoon. The pool bar was OK, we were not that impressed by the food (tried the burger, club sandwich and the bbq pizza). Most guests went down to the pool area during breakfast and placed their towels in order to get a pool chair. If you are not an early bird the pool area might become full. Not to worry, a couple of hundred meters to each side of the hotel there are beaches (one of them have a lot of nudists).
Walking into the central parts of Sitges takes approx. 15 minutes, which can be quite a hassle if you are visiting during the hottest months. A taxi costs approx. 9-12€. There is also a bus line close to the hotel, but we walked most of the days. Close to the hotel (approx. 500 meters) is the Carrefour supermarket for buying snacks/drinks/beverages.
TLDR;
- Great hotel, even though it's located a bit from the central parts of Sitges.
- Close to two beaches.
- Great dining in the port area.
