Tucked away in the woods, our Blueberry Cottage in Smallwood, New York offers a quiet escape perfect for slowing down and settling into nature. Wake up to birdsong, sip your morning coffee on the porch, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of lake and forest life.
Just 7 miles from the legendary Bethel Woods Center for the Arts — site of the original Woodstock Festival — the cottage is also a short drive to Resorts World Catskills, Monticello Race Track, and the laid-back waterside restaurants and cafés around White Lake and Kauneonga Lake.
Step outside and you’re moments from the peaceful trails of the Smallwood Nature Preserve, where shaded paths wind along a gentle creek. In summer, pick fresh blueberries nearby and cool off with a dip beneath local waterfalls. A short walk brings you to Mountain Lake — perfect for an evening stroll around the two-mile loop as the sky turns gold at sunset.
Inside, the cottage is warm and welcoming, with a fully stocked kitchen for slow breakfasts, shared dinners, or easy cookouts under the trees. Deer often wander through the yard, adding a little everyday magic to your stay.

The interior of the property was clean and tidy. It was very enjoyable to relax inside. The exterior is a little dated. Seems like natural wear and tear though. The neighborhood is cute, very walkable. Serene also. The property was close to our intended destination, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Spotless, Well-Appointed Cabin
Everything you need for lovely woodsy getaway. Comfortable beds, well-appointed kitchen and bath. Relax in the living room, screened-in porch, or backyard patio. Great hosts!

Lovely 2 Bedroom cabin
The property appears as listed. Great cabin in proximity to the Woodstock Museum and campus in Bethel Woods NY. There was a lot of rain during the stay that seemed to drive some large black ants inside. Apparently this is normal for this area. The ants were slightly annoying but acceptable given that we were in a rural area enjoying a rustic cabin on a wooded area. Absolutely loved the stay there. Went to the Bethel Woods museum and learned so much about the Woodstock Festival that happened in the area in August 1969.

Weekend getaway
We had an amazing weekend! This cabin was everything. The location is great - close to Bethel Woods, food, drink, and lots of state parks. It was a perfect, quiet weekend for me and my spouse. The host was very responsive and kind. Thank you!
