“The solarium and hot tub was a good distance away and was just a green house. I may have misunderstood when booking,but they made it seem like it was a part of the cabin.( the entire reason I spent $400 for one night) it was hard lugging my luggage to the cabin do to the railroad tie stairs being so far apart. The grounds are really fun to explore all the way out to the beach. The scenery was amazing. “The location of the Bear Necessities cottages is rural and quiet, yet close to town. Our cottage, though small, was clean and comfortable with a good shower. There is no air-conditioning, which is typical in Alaska. Heat was provided by a diesel heater. This was a little unusual, but we got used to it and it worked fine. No complaints. “Pictures and discription were not what we actually rented. Very small, no room for the luggage, shower very small and could hardly bend offer to clean. The kitchen would have worked had there been supplies for cooking. No toaster, no sheet pan, no strainer. The bed crambbed into a space were there is 18" to walk on bot sides. There is heat but no way to cool, no fan. There is a nice laundry on the property and the property is quite.”
