  • Den charmiga stugan "la cabane" ligger i den gröna parken i ett karaktärshus i centrum av Sommières, en vacker medeltida stad mellan Nîmes och Montpellier.
    Den historiska vägen som leder till slottet genom de skuggade gränderna och torgarna får dig att upptäcka ett rikt och varierat arv.
    Idealiskt beläget för att besöka regionen (Les Cévennes, Camargue ...), öka antalet idrottsaktiviteter (ridning, kajakpaddling, trädklättring ...) och kulturella aktiviteter (Avignon, jazz i Junas, Arles ...)

Le cabanon dans le jardin

Excellent séjour ! Accueil vraiment très chaleureux de la propriétaire. Centre-ville de Sommières à deux pas, de même que les services (épicerie, restos...) Un bel emplacement pour visiter cette magnifique région.

Das Ferienhaus entsprach genau den Beschreibungen. Die Vermieterin war ausgesprochen nett und kooperativ. Wir können das Haus auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Bijou caché

Un lieu de séjour idyllique. Niché dans un coin d'un trés beau grand jardin, avec une cuisine d"été abritée sous les vignes. Un havre de paix mais a quelques pas de tous les principaux commerces et du centre-ville historique. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par des hôtes charmants et nous avons hâte d'y retourner l'année prochaine.

Magnificent

We had a super stay at the property. It has all you need for a very comfortable stay. It is located in a garden of the house once owned by Laurence Durrell - behind secure gates..and only a short walk from the town centre. Our host Ghislaine was friendly and helpful and even provided an apple pie and tomatoes from the garden during our stay...we will stay here again if we are in the area

Fantastic holiday

Madame Bergé is wonderful. She gave us loads of information about the locality and even arranged for her grand daughter to come round and speak to us in English. The location is amazing. Would thoroughly recommend and we will be returning.

Le cabanon enchanteur

Dans un écrin de verdure à 5 minutes à pied du centre ville de Sommières, complètement au calme, un petit logement (difficile à trouver sur le GPS...) vraiment original et surprenant. Une hôtesse sympathique aux petits soins pour ses locataires. Très bon séjour, Sommières et ses environs sont remarquables. Merci pour tout et pourquoi pas à une prochaine...

Perfect for a couple seeking a quiet, secluded and charming “Cabin”in a beautiful garden.

We were very comfortable in The Cabin and Ghislaine was a charming host. Everything worked well, the air conditioning was a real blessing during the 36C Drought of 2022 and there is a delightful BBQ area for outdoor dining (but don’t forget the insect repellent!). Thank you Ghislaine - you made us feel very welcome.

A little oasis of calm.

The cabin is situated in the grounds of the manor house that once belonged to the author Laurence Durell. The hostess is amazing and cannot do enough to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Walk out of the secure grounds and you are in the old town of Sommieres, with its numerous restaurants and bars . This place could not score higher if you want a base to explore the area.

Man ist für sich auf einem wunderbar gepflegten parkähnlichem Anwesen in einem kleinen hübschen Häuschen welches gut ausgestattet war. Auch die Betten waren sehr bequem. Sehr angenehm empfanden wir die Klimaanlage. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut gelegen, so dass man alles fußläufig erreichen kann. Ghislaine ist eine sehr nette, fürsorgliche, kompetente und jederzeit erreichbare Gastgeberin. Vielen Dank dafür ! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt

An Amazing Find

The Cabine is set in the grounds of the late writer's house, and is perfect as a base to explore the area. Yet just two minutes walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. The cabine is fully equiped and we could not have asked for more. The Capine has a private garden with sun loungers, bbq and table to eat beneath the over hanging vines. Such a delight to stay here. Ghislaine could not have been a more helpfull, and accommodating host. This is a delight and we will most certainly book again next year. Perfect retreat in the South of France just 20 miles from the coast.

Sehr schön mit etwas schwierigem Start

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in Sommières an einem kulturell-geschichtsträchtigen Ort in einem kleinen Park. Die Übergabe hatte uns allerdings ziemliches Kopfzerbrechen bereitet, da unsere Nachfrage nach der Telefonnummer, unter der wir die Hausherrin über unsere Ankunft informieren sollten, nicht von FewoDirekt beantwortet wurde und die Klingel am Anwesen defekt war. Die Dame war dann allerdings äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit, sodass wir diesen Punkt schnell vergessen konnten. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent place! Excellent location!

I have stayed here in the cabin a few times. It's perfect. Great location - just a short over the Roman bridge puts you in old town Sommières. The cabin is on a private property, behind a high wall and automatic gate. This makes the cabin very quiet, relaxing and safe. You will receive keys for the cabin and gate as well as a fob for the electric gate opener. In the cabin, everything functions perfectly. A very comfortable bed, a good little kitchen with everything you need, a bathroom with hot shower and a clothes washing machine. (There is a line outside, beside the cabin for hanging & drying clothes.) The hostess is incredibly gracious and welcoming. I very happily recommend it is VRBO rental. 🤗👍🏻

Disappointing

The property is in a good location but was simply not clean. The kitchen area in particular was not hygienic to use with both work surface and appliances needing a good clean. The seating area was not very comfortable and there was hair and stains on the seat cushions. The wifi signal was so weak it was impossible to maintain a connection and although the host arranged for someone to come to try to address this, the wifi set up - via the main house - isn't suitable. On the plus side, the bed linen was crisp and fresh. There was plentiful hot water and we appreciated the bottle of wine and pods provided for the coffee machine.

Great cottage in a charming town

I stayed two weeks here. This cabin is ideally located just outside of the main gate into the town of Sommieres. It is on a lovely property with lots of big trees and parking inside of the property gate. Easy to walk to the big Intermarche supermarket and to bakeries. The cabin is perfect for a single or couple. It has kitchenette with everything you need and a clothes washing machine in the bathroom. The outside sitting area (pergula with vines) is perfect for breakfast and evenings. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. You do need to make sure that you don't leave crumbs around (ants were incredibly fast to discover them), but it isn't a real problem. I happened to stay in the first week of August when the local horses & bulls festival is on and the cottage was perfectly located to be able to take in the activities. There is also a summer wine festival every Monday evening in the city marketplace.

Fabulous caban in a secure and private garden

We visited Sommieres for a wedding in a nearby chateau. This caban was perfect - a one off design with everything we needed. It had a secure private garden within the large grounds of the hosts - she and her family were lovely and welcoming and we felt like special guests rather than paying customers! It went up to 41C during our stay so the caban air con was a welcome feature. Sommieres is s stroll away across the old bridge and whilst small has multiple restaurants, bars and cafes. It couldn’t have been nicer. Thank you to our wonderful hosts

Gemütliches Häuschen in zentraler Lage

Wir haben den Aufenthalt bei Ghislaine sehr genossen. Es ist ein hübsches Anwesen inmitten von Sommières. Man kommt fußläufig in die Stadt, zum Supermarkt, den Restaurants und kann den Abend in der gemütlichen Gartenlaube ausklingen lassen. Es war wunderschön und Ghislaine ist eine liebevolle und reizende Gastgeberin. Vielen lieben Dank für all die Tipps und die Fürsorge, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Atypique et agréable

Environnement très agréable, même en plein hiver. L'ouverture sur le parc est apaisante. A 5mn de la ville et plusieurs possibilités pour marcher, nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Parfait à 2. Ghislaine a le sens de l'accueil et nous a fait profiter de ses bons conseils. A refaire!
