Tumbleweed: Pet friendly + private couples cabin w/hot tub in Hocking Hills

The Tumbleweed is a one room, pet friendly, log cabin for 2 located on an owner occupied property just down the road from our main location. This cabin is a returning guest favorite and has a great location on the edge of a steep hill in the woods.

Steep drive: 4wd recommended at all times and req'd in inclement weather.

I would like to say the cabin was very nice and cozy, host contacted before stay to follow up on booking make sure we got the check in instructions and door codes.I was very impressed with the amenities.( 2 different coffee machine drip and k cup, pots pans, baking sheets, mixer. even had mop plus vacuum. Hot tub was well maintained, great temp. we stayed late in the season right before a snow storm, host texted and informed us of the bad weather and sending plows out but we left late the last night before weather change, luckily we did apparent it was bad weather. cabin is in prime hiking area it was a short drive to the trails. I would 100% stay here again.

The stay was great! We needed a weekend away to just relax and not have to worry about the stress we’ve had going on, and it was a birthday weekend so that made it great as well. The cabin was very cozy which made the stay very relaxing. With the cabin being very close to Ash Cave and the Old Mans Cave it made it easy to explore the area and come back to cook lunch. Overall the stay was great.

My husband and I had a lovely time there. Cabin was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with decent cooking utensils/pans/dishes. The cabin sits off by itself (one other cabin down the road and a home at the other end of the lane) but otherwise it's you and nature, which I love. We watched the stars out in a nearby field, and enjoyed the firepit. It's about a 10 min drive to the state park, which was convenient. Will probably book there again!

We had a great stay. This was a nice rustic cabin. The hot tub water was a bit cloudy. The ceilings had cob webs and the carpet inside and under the bed did not look to be swept but some of the areas may be hard to clean. These are the only things we noticed. We did not use the kitchen or grill, kitchen looked stocked and the grill outside looked nice. Firepit area was cute and the rocking chairs out there are a nice touch. Overall we had a nice relaxing stay.

Lovely Cabin in the Woods

The Tumbleweed Cabin is tucked into the woods with a balcony that extends into the trees, yet is still easily accessible by road. I loved spending a little time each morning in the hot tub, surrounded by the birdsong and trees. All amenities are as listed. We had a very comfortable week-long stay.

Unprofessional management (maintenance)

Got there late after hiking in hot weather all day and the water was not working!! Called maintenance, (who is actually one of the owners) he was extremely rude and also tried to tough talk me into taking an another property of his that was not clean. The little time I was there I was not impressed, and parking is absolutely terrible. Never will I use this company again.

Great place

This cabin was perfect for us. It’s located 2 miles from the old man cave. The cabin was clean and perfect for two people. We used the gas grill for burgers, had a fire in the fire pit, and relaxed in the hot tub after hiking all day. We will definitely go back in the future.

Weeekend getaway

Cute cabin very private. Enjoyed the hot tub too snowy and cold to explore the trails. Definitely will be coming back in the spring. Thankful for the snow plowing on the road or we would have been stuck for days

5 star pricing with 3 star amenities

There is no cell service with Verizon from the cabin but this was called out during booking. We were able to pick up cell service right down the road. There is no wifi which isn't a big deal but for our first time in Hocking Hills we had no idea where to go and there was no info in the cabin. It is secluded in the woods back a long driveway so there is little traffic noise. The woods around the property were beautiful. We took our pugs for a walk around the property and we all came back covered in ticks. I know it's not the hosts fault, just a heads up to be prepared. The hot tub is generally nice but the light did not work. There is also a rope light and deck lights that look into the woods that did not work. The porch light did work so we were fine. The tub was over-chlorinated but that didn't deter us from enjoying it. The deck itself is nice and high up. It feels safe and sturdy. There is a bin outside for storage but it had a ton of stinkbugs in it. On the inside, there were no cabinets to store our clothes. You can put suitcases and bags under the bed. The kitchen has pots and pans and there is some random silverware that looks like was left by past guests. The grill on the porch is nice! It was pretty dusty and there were cobwebs. There were also dead stinkbugs on the kitchen counter. Some spots looked like it could have been black mold. I would recommend to the hosts either getting wifi or printing maps/directions to the sites and places to eat, etc.
