River Cottage

Ligger 7 miles väster om South Fork på Highway 149 hittar du en bergshytte inbäddat i träden med utsikt över Rio Grande River. Vår fjällstuga ger fantastisk utsikt och enastående naturlig skönhet som bara Colorado kan erbjuda. Njut av ditt kaffe på däck när du lyssnar på floden, bara fotspår bort. Fiskare kommer att älska denna plats!
Två nedre sovrum sover 4 gäster med queen size-sängar. På övervåningen master svit har queen size-säng och halv badrum. Sova extra gäster på bäddsoffa, eller sätt sovsäckar på övervåningen. Nyrenoverat kök är fullt utrustat. Matsal ser ut på däck i ryggen med utsikt över floden.
Följ Rio Grande River längs Silver Thread Scenic Highway 17 miles till Creede och utforska staden och silvergruvorna. Eller kör 30 minuter på motorväg 160 till Wolf Creek Ski Area som registrerar det största genomsnittliga årliga snöfallet i Colorado.
Känner du inte att köra? Koppla av på däck eller hängmatta med en drink och titta på fiskarna i din grupp kasta sina linjer. Stanna ut hela dagen och titta på solnedgången bakom bergen.

A great stay

This cabin is riverfront, private, quiet, very relaxing. The owners had excellent communication, and the cabin was as pictured and described. The cabin had every thing needed, Would definitely come back!

Cool place

Overall a good place to stay, quite and good location. Clean and great outdoor space. Unfortunately the river was high during my stay so i can't attest to the fishing, though it is close by to numerous lakes which were great. Id definitely considered staying here again.

A little piece of heaven.

This was our 4th visit to the River Cottage. Every year we have come here to get away from the fast pace of the city. The river fishing, hummingbirds feeding and starry nights always do the trick!

The host was very welcoming and responsive. The place is great for a small family or a few couples. It's a very cozy place that has been well taken care of and has a lot to offer. The back yard view is spectacular and the access to the river is even better. The kitchen is fully stocked if you plan to cook, and the bathroom is updated which is great. The bedrooms are furnished with TV's and ROKU which is a plus and the WIFI works perfectly. The mattresses feel a little springy and heater takes a minute to warm up the place but there's a fireplace if you care to use it along with the heater.This is the perfect place to stay if you're visiting South Fork Area.Overall Rating - Definitely worth staying. It was a perfect getaway for myself, my husband & daughter. The weather was amazing. The nature was unbelievable. We were able to see a bear. Lots of deer a couple of foxes bald eagle so many beautiful birds. It was amazing. We certainly will be going back. We’ve already decided. We are moving to the area and we have a plan to do so within the next three years we look forward to coming to visit during the winter time next.

Great location

River cottage was the perfect location for our family vacation to wolf creek. It was just a few miles into town and about 20 minutes or so to wolf creek ski area. We have been to South Fork numerous times, and our stay at the River cottage did not disappoint. The area was beautiful! We saw lots of wildlife from the cabin windows and on our drive into south fork. Would love to come back in the summer!

Ski trip

We arrived at River Cottage after a multi hour flight delay and a snowy drive from Denver to find a warm and cozy spot, greeted by a beautiful bottle of wine and handwritten note from the hosts. We found everything we needed to enjoy a ski week at Wolf Creek and celebrate a family member’s landmark birthday. Thank you!

Rest and high water!

We spent a very restful week at the River Cottage for the 3rd year in a row. It never fails us. Between the cottage, the scenery and the river, one never has to leave if desired. The river was very high and running fast, but did not fail to give us a few good trout. We look forward to our next visit!

Great scenic area

The cabin was located in a wonderful scenic area . The river is out back and very easy to walk to . This is a perfect place to unplug and get away . Owners are very responsive and town is about 16 minutes up the road . The river does not have many fish during winter so I suggest going in the spring summer for fishing. Other than that , we will def be back!

Great location but dirty house

The location of this house is phenomenal. Fishing in the river just steps from the back porch was exactly what we were looking for. As for the cleanliness of the property, it was not clean. Dirty toilets and floor, but the most disgusting part was the dirty sheets I got into after after a long day of driving. I reached out to the owner of the property who mentioned they would talk with the lady that cleans the place, but I should have been offered a refund of the cleaning fee as I was not provided a clean house upon arrival. That being said, I would not return to the property again, but did overall enjoy the location and visit with friends.

Beautiful getaway in the mountains!

What a wonderful way to relax and experience the tranquil beauty of southern Colorado! The Lowes truly have a delightful property, and we were blessed by their willingness to share their cabin and riverfront view with us during our recent trip to Colorado. We enjoyed being able to spend many hours enjoying the view of the Rio Grande and surrounding bluffs from the comfort of our back porch and enjoyed having private access to the river. The cabin’s location in a nice neighborhood made us feel secure, but the fact that it is at the end of the road gives it just the right amount of seclusion from the surrounding houses. We also were delighted that the property adjoins a state wildlife preserve, giving you access to much more land to explore and enjoy. We especially enjoyed our walks there. The cabin, although not new, has a warm, comfortable atmosphere and is equipped with all of the latest amenities. All in all, it is a charming and breathtaking setting to get away from it all and enjoy peace and relaxation in the mountains!
