A lovely weekend. Accommodation was perfect for my two dogs and l to use as a base. Kitchen was fully equipped, with a fridge and freezer to use. The accommodation, towels and bed linen all spotless. Already rebooked for August.

Lovely weekend for mum and I
Mum is 92 and we both loved this property, fields full of lambs one side and the canal the other, pub 100m away, good weather, what more can you ask. The accommodation was really comfortable and had everything we needed. Met Nigel when we arrived and spoke to him again when we left. Perfect! Thank you Nigel. Christine and Babs x

A lovely Break
The entire process was easy. It was as it stated on the advert. Nigel was accommodating to our needs. I live on a narrowboat and access to hot water, a washing machine and electricity which was 'On Tap' should never be underestimated nor taken for granted. All this was present in abundance but in a quiet location. It's a cozy place and was part of a memorable experience. I'd stay again. I don't say that often.

A nostalgic trip back to the canal
A very warm and personal welcome from Nigel, our host. The converted stable had absolutely everything you needed to make our stay very comfortable. The underfloor heating and the log burning stove insured we were never cold. A thoroughly enjoyable stay right beside the canal lock, close to where we kept our canal boat.

Great place to stay
Just had two nights at this lovely property, visiting relatives who live near, didn’t want to leave, ideal for us and our dogs, and what views from the windows across the fields, just so peaceful. We are looking forward to going back again to enjoy the surroundings and especially to stay in Nigel’s cozy, clean and homely stable conversation which has everything and more that you would need to spend your time in. We couldn’t fault it.

Hidden Gem
Beautiful converted stables with a cozy log fire. The local pub The Folly is a delight and the tow path walk was an added bonus for walking our Shih Tzu. The host Nigel was so welcoming, we arrived during a storm and Nigel had come out to meet us with a bottle of wine. Cooking facilities were perfect (I’m coeliac so we cooked our own food) and the dishwasher made clean up so much quicker so that we could enjoy a glass of Nigel’s wine in front of the log burner. The house was clean and cozy and our dog loved the under floor heating. We look forward to coming back.

Lovely Short Break
From the minute we arrived at The Stables @ Lock Cottage we felt relaxed. The accommodation was well equipped, spotlessly clean and full of character with underfloor heating and a log burner making it very cosy. The Folly (dog friendly Pub) was just 100 yards away serving good food. Good walks nearby with access to the canal tow path. Wellies are essential for this time of year! Will definitely return.

Lovely property, ideal for staying with our dogs. Excellent location, pub literally 2 mins walk away serving good food & dog friendly The cottage was clean , comfortable and had all the home comforts you would need, including a log burner for the wet and windy days Nigel was an excellent host, very informative and happy to answer any questions Will definitely stay again if in the area.

Great little cottage
What a lovely little cottage. Nigel made us very welcome when we arrived and didn't bother us at all whilst staying there. The area was absolutely fabulous with open field and the canal right next to the cottage. The cidery was very nice and we came away with a few bottles. Overall had a fantastic stay.

A little corner of heaven
Idyllic location in a peaceful and tranquil setting with a canal on one side and fields on the other. Friendly host in Nigel. The cottage is clean, comfortable, well stocked with cleaning materials and has lovely views. Even our diva of a dog was impressed.

Canal location and quiet.
We used the cottage as a base to travel to other places due to family commitments but when we were there it was a lovely location. Beside the canal/locks and near a country pub,that was obviously popular in the area, it has a lot going for it. we wished that we could have spent more time in the village walking around.

Really nice property in a remote setting but with easy access to amenities. The landlord was friendly and helpful, and happy to accommodate our feline friend in the property. Gorgeous area next to the canal and plenty of walking available. We all had a lovely break with some great weather too! We would definitely recommend and hope to return again.

Comfortable, warm, cosy and well equipped place .
We enjoyed our stay here and it was perfect for walks, access to countryside, canals, pubs and visiting our friend in the village. The strength of the WIFi was a bit under par and whilst the shower was OK it lacked in power but overall we would recommend staying here and found the cottage comfortable 👍

Lovely little spot
Cosy, peaceful cottage located right next to the canal for lovely dog walks and great dog friendly pub to the other side (no noise at all) with great atmosphere and food - booking definitely recommended. Cidery just along the road was great and the snacks and cakes at the well stocked post office just ten minutes walk away very convenient. Had a fabulous weekend. Thank you.

Peaceful.
We found this property to be accessible, clean, well equipped, warm and inviting. Perfect for our stay. We were able to walk the adjacent canal path, visit the super village shop and eat at the fantastic Folly Public House, whose food was top quality. We had a three night stay and enjoyed every minute. Out in the sticks, it was peacefully quiet and just what we needed. 5*'s for quality and price! V and S

Superb property
This was our second stay here and we will certainly be back. The cottage is just perfect.....immaculately clean, and beautifully presented. We stayed in November and it was so cosy with the under floor heating and log burner. The location is beautiful with lovely views and the canal. The 2 min walk to the fantastic pub is a huge advantage. Delicious food and uniquely welcoming atmosphere. Thank you Nigel for a great stay and see you same time next year!

We had a great short break in The Stables. The cottage was beautiful as was the location. It had everything we could need as well as a great pub at the end of the lane! Exceptional place to stay
We had the best time. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. It had every amenity you need and fitted out to a.high standard. We loved every minute of our stay. So handy for dog walks along the canal and the pub! Very quiet and peaceful. Loved it so.much we have already booked for next uear. Communication with owner was excellent. Lovely little cottage in a lovely location
Lovely little cottage with all a couple could need. Lovely village and amazing village shop. The shop is amazing you can understand why it has won awards I’d love a local produce shop like this at home. We didn’t try the cider but we sampled the cider and that was amazing. Walking distance of the country pub at the end of the drive. Another great food pub, the kings head near by and the amazing boat pub 15 minutes away. We will definitely be back again to explore the area more.

Exploring the Oxford Canal & area
Lovely peaceful location right by Napton locks. Loved the cottage, even nicer than shown in the pictures. Had almost everything you need & anything missing was quickly provided byNigel, the friendly owner who lives next door. Patio sunny in the afternoon. Pub a few yards away. Worth stocking up at Village store in Napton. Lots of fresh baked produce Had hoped to cycle the towpaths but too narrow though plenty of quiet lanes nearby . Grand Union canal & Lias Line cycle path are only 4 miles away.

Quiet and peaceful
If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to be. We had a lovely break away from city life. Nigel's cottage is a great base to explore the beautiful countryside with plenty of walks from the door or just to watch the canal boats navigating the locks. The cottage was clean with all the essentials provided and a comfy bed is always a bonus. Communication from Nigel was good, both on this occasion and our previous failed attempt to get here due to Covid restrictions in 2020. Highly recommend the shop in the village for supplies and breakfast too!

Idyllic Setting
A beautiful cottage, canal to one side, field of sheep to the other, The Folly public house at end of drive, Napton Cidery just up the road. The cottage had everything you needed, clean, spacious and outside patio with table & chairs, you could see the barges from the kitchen window, wonderful sun sets, the wildlife was lovely, birds singing, we even had swifts fly through the open stable door! A naughty magpie that liked to taunt the local cat as it wandered through the field, bats at night plus 2 swans & thier 4 signets. Stratford Upon Avon, Royal Leamington Spa, Evesham & Oxford all close by to visit. Simple an idyllic spot, highly recommend.

If I could bring the cottage home to live in when my children have flown the nest I would
Absolutely beautiful area. The cottage was just perfect, the only reason I gave 3 stars for cleanliness was just the attention to detail. Don’t get me wrong it was overall clean but the bits and pieces could do with a little more attention eg around the edges of the glass table, the glass just needs lifting to get rid of the crumbs etc. nothing major though. I would fully recommend staying there. Maybe a thicker mattress. The cottage contained everything you needed for your stay. The Folly pub just down the road has a lovely friendly atmosphere, it was very popular with the locals. I had a lovely fillet steak, a little more expensive than I would usually pay a home, it was £26 and my husband had the fish £15 but you couldn’t fault the food so it was worth that but extra. If you go to Warwick castle make sure you book in advance, we didn’t and it cost us £74 pounds for the two of us which I thought was a little extortionate. The castle is beautiful but other than that unless you have children it is not worth the money we paid. If you book in advance (prior to the day you go) it costs about £24 which I think is about average price and that is what I think they should charge as a Max for on the day to. Overall our stay was lovely. Thank you Nigel for lending us your cottage.

New Year Stay
Had a fantastic time at the Stables. Was very quiet and peaceful the whole time. Everything inside the accommodation was made to feel us welcome right from the off. Visited the Potting Shed after a walk on NYE and really enjoyed it. Everyone we met was so welcoming. Looking forward to visiting in the summer when the ground is firmer!
