“The checking in was brilliant, we arrived in the morning and they gave us our key early as we were not going to be needing our room until later as we were attending a wedding in a nearby village.
Everything was as you would expect however the bed was not!!
They had put a king size mattress on a double bed.
Unbeknown to me I turned over while I was asleep and fell out hurting myself!!
The mattress was not supported by anything under it and it was overlapping my side of the bed by about 9...

And one of the charms of The Swan is that it is an old building with quirky staircases and little nooks and crannies. However, we were disturbed during the night by doors banging and people using stairs outside our room in order to access theirs. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. ”
