B&B i Spillville

“We have stayed here before. We like the location downtown. We like the historical nature of the hotel. We absolutely did not like the room we were assigned. We shared a wall with the elevator, so we heard that late at night and definitely at 6:30 am when people went down for breakfast. One evening, someone decided to play the lobby piano and have a sing along after 10:00 pm. I couldn't tell the exact time because my head was covered with a pillow in a futile attempt to muffle the noise. In...

“We had an amazing, peaceful, and private stay—just what we wanted! The location was great and very close to everything decorah has to offer! The fall colors were beautiful and definitely showing off for us. We ended up using the air mattress to sleep on and that worked out really well for us as the back of the futon wasn’t very comfortable, but great for sitting! We were never able to find the trails that led down to the bottom of the Quarry, but that’s ok. We didn’t need to talk to the owners...

“Just didn't read the "fine" print so just left and didn't stay and ate the over-priced fee.”

“Host was very responsive. Extremely easy check-in/check-out. Quiet, simple and right in the heart of the town. Walking distance to everything. The stairs are very narrow and steep but there are handles and small landings on each floor that make it easier to navigate. Parking is in the alley behind the building but it was a very short walk to the main door. It was clean and perfect for a short stay. ”

“House is stocked with everything we needed for a several weeks stay - great home base for exploring the area. We especially enjoyed the front porch - sitting out and watching the sun rise, and the deer wandering the neighborhood in the evenings. A short stroll to downtown Decorah. Laundry on site was super helpful, and we had room for a couple guests to spend a few nights with us. Ten out of ten!”
