There are multiple seasonal opportunities to enjoy its benefits. From hiking in back country to sledding in the winter outside the cabin. you will hopefully fall in love with this part of the Southern Sierras.

Imagine; the tree was a mere seedling when King Solomn built his temple in Jerusalem, a sapling when Christ was born. The General generates enough wood each year to produce a 60-foot tall tree of average size. Dozens of giant sequoia are neighbors to the General; the half-mile downhill trail into the Giant Forest offers access to the General and all the beautiful and hardy creatures. Just be aware returning to the parking lot requires a gentle, uphill walk. It was certainly worth the trip. Our stay at the cabin was absolutely wonderful! The place was spotless — clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook meals during our stay. The host was attentive and responsive, and provided clear driving directions and check in instructions The location was peaceful and relaxing, making it the perfect getaway. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and well-maintained retreat!

This cabin is superb. Honestly the cleanest rental I’ve stayed in, I think ever. I love when a rental has a stocked kitchen, especially when you are so off grid. It’s very helpful for cooking anything you need. The decor and books were fun to look over and the location is great for hiking and exploring the sequoia national forest. The game room downstairs kept us entertained nightly, it was fun to be disconnected from media and just play games and explore. Thank you for sharing your beautiful, fun cabin. I can’t wait to go again.

Very nice Cabin in between the woods, so silent at night. The cabin has everything, was very clean and organized. Make sure you have everything from the Supermarkt as the nearest bigger market is about an Hour Drive away. My kids loved the Game Room downstairs, that is truly a Highlight. Would recommend it and Book again if we are around. Good and effective communication with the owner. Everything excellent.

This place is magical, and Chris is an excellent host! The home is clean, beds are comfortable, kitchen is fully stocked, extra towels are provided, the furniture is so comfortable. The area surrounding the cabin is gorgeous and peaceful. We had a wonderful time!!!

The host of this property is very responsive and helpful. We loved the remote location for star gazing at night!! It was a big drive to see the Sherman Tree in the Sequoia National Park. It was super cozy for 3 people and very well thought out!
Dark sky destination. We could see the Milky Way!
Lovely trail down the street and roads aren’t too twisty to get here.

Meticulously Clean and comfortable cabin

Cabin is close to the Sequoia National Forest Trail of 100 Giants. The cabin is at around 7000 feet. The drive in is slow with winding switch backs. Our family enjoyed playing pool at the cabin.

Great Stay

When I read the reviews for this cabin, one review stood out to me. The review stated that cabin had all the comforts of home. This is so true, the cabin is very well equipped with everything you need, especially the kitchen. I am a bit of a perfectionist and this cabin met all my expectations plus some. The host is very accommodating. If you want to take a trip to Ponderosa, book this cabin for a great stay.

Amazing Stay!

Beautiful property and an amazing 1st visit to the national forest. We will definitely be back for a stay in warm weather to hike more trails. The snow made the area really magical as there were hardly any other people around while we hiked the area. My kids loved sledding in the little hills in the yard. My husband and I appreciated the attention to detail in the cabin. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully curated for travelers.

Our stay at Amys cabin was magnificent. What a wonderful area to get away. Cabin was very clean. Property managers were very helpful Answered us quickly with any questions we had. My brothers and friends loved the beautiful view . Thank Chris for all the info. I can't wait to go back.

Delightful Getaway / Wonderful Location

My wife, 10 year old daughter and I spent an extended weekend following the Thanksgiving holiday in this beautifully appointed cabin. For such a remote location, we had every creature comfort and when not out hiking the Trail of 100 Giants (about 15 minutes away) and other hiking adventures, we spent quality time ready, playing board games and availing ourselves of the pool table, air hockey, darts and ping pong in the game room. Chris was absolutely amazing to communicate with, answering questions via VRBO messaging promptly and with attention to all the right details. We’ll definitely come back again!

Perfect mountain cabin getaway!

I'm going to go on record as saying I'm pretty picky when it comes to vacation rentals. I always want them to be close to the comforts of home which is a pretty tall order. However, the Amy Cabin delivered 100%. Beautiful area, beautiful cabin, every possible amenity you could want, fully stocked, and top quality everything. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Communication with the owner was effortless, prompt, friendly, and thorough. We will definitely be back❣️🥰
