We certainly didn’t expect to be left high and dry with last minute cancellations, 3 times after trying to help you with the ever-elusive Covid excuse. We understood that when we put our foot down, it was likely that you would reciprocate with a review of fabrications. 🤔 Now, let's address the architectural masterpiece that is our villa. We are sincerely concerned about your well-being as you seem to have missed the vital lesson in reading comprehension. 📚 According to our architectural plans and what is posted on the VRBO site – the villa boasts a total living space of 3,488 square feet, not your whimsical 3,800 square feet. It is clearly indicated that these 3,488 square feet include the separate in law suite apartment, the terrace and pool area, hence “total living space” We get it; numbers can be tricky. Regarding your expectations of strolling to the beach with dive gear – our apologies for the uphill workout we inadvertently subjected you to. Clearly, we need to add a disclaimers for every possibility, ie: no parking for your car in the bedroom.🚗 Now, let's talk air conditioning. We assure you; our villa is not a sauna-themed retreat. The notion of rationing air conditioning is as real as your fourth attempt at rebooking. Rest assured, electricity conservation is a priority for us and the island, so if you aren't actually in the villa, we gently suggest turning off the AC. It's all about embracing the island vibes and cooling trade winds, electricity conservation is a shared responsibility, after all.. 💨 And yes, we can confirm that the Caribbean is indeed hot, sometimes humid, and occasionally mosquito-infested – shocking, we know! But fret not, for we have discovered a revolutionary invention called bug spray. Trust us; it works wonders. 🦟✨ To future guests, we humbly request a thorough perusal of the booking site to avoid any unexpected revelations, such as impossibility of parking a car in the bedroom. Thank you kindly for the 5 Star Review! The house being rugged is an overstatement. As you mentioned and as is listed on the VRBO site the home is NOT brand new, it is used almost every week so it will show as used, not brand new. The home has everything you need, is cleaned every departure of a guest. Is it used? Yes. Is it rugged? We do not believe so and this is the first time anyone has indicated something like this. To say “the home is somewhat impractical” hmmm, not sure how that can be, I guess the home could have been designed by turning it around and having it face the mountain instead of the spectacular ocean view and “The sunset is amazing!” as you indicated to not face the sun. I would think that would be more impractical. Not much we can do on this one, if you want a sunset, you will have the sun beaming on the home. There is shade in the home and also in the entrance area where we have an extra dining table and chairs. Really do not understand how an umbrella would help? Its not at the beach. You paid $150 USD umbrella? There are homes next to the villa on both sides, this is normal anywhere for most homes. We provide a video on the VRBO website so you can see clearly where the neighbors are as well as drone videos. There is not a direct view in to the kitchen or terrace, one must stand to the farthest right side of the neighbors terrace to view in, essentially peeping in. For all future guests, if you want complete privacy with no neighbors you will need to book a villa on top of the hill with the 4 times larger lots that have NO ocean views. These are the trade offs. I wish you had reached out to me or property management, perhaps they missed adding them when they cleaned on the previous departure. We could have easily brought them to you if we knew. Future guests please let us know. You should have not felt any pressure regarding the limit for electricity. As we mention in the rental contract and also in the House Rules that all guests receive as long as you do not run the aircos all day when you are not in the bedrooms you will not go over. We have very rarely ever had guests go over their limit. It is there to protect us from high electricity costs when guests are irresponsible. We had one guest leave to the beach and left the aircos running all day when not in the villa. They were charged for the over usage as its inconsiderate to the environment and the villa. Hello Shana, we are happy you enjoyed your stay. With respect to privacy, if you need a villa with no others around this would not be the property for you hence the reason we have a video of the area on VRBO listing and send Drone videos to potential guests as well. I reached out to property management, they tried several days in a row by leaving you a message to try and schedule a time. They drove by as well and you were not home. We always recommend guests pick a convenient time before arrival to schedule it otherwise our orientation videos are very helpful. Safe travels.

To ALL potential guests reading these reviews. We have the most positive reviews of any villa in Curacao! Please see the review from the guests just before this one in January 2022. They stayed for 1 month. Everything was perfect and fine for them with a glowing review. This guest arrived one day after. The day they arrived they immediately asked for a Nespresso Machine!! and a lemon squeezer. The lemon squeezer is there and Yes they asked us to purchase a Nespresso machine. No where on the listing does it indicate we have a Nespresso machine. There is a regular coffee machine. We rejected to purchase the Nespresso Machine and here we have this negative review because we did not buy them a Nespresso. WOW. Nothing is taped except the white potter that holds an agave plant outside which cracked from the heavy soil. The potter is not available on the island, rather then remove the beautiful agave we fixed the white potter with white tape. The guests as well left the whole house extremely dirty, again because we would not buy them a Espresso machine. If you are such a person then please stay away from our place. Your are better suited in a hotel. We try to go above and beyond for our guests, however this was just such a far fetched of a request. Will all due respect.

Thank you kindly for the wonderful feedback. We definitely recommend to guests to rent a vehicle. In Curacao many beautiful locations are spread around the island which makes a vehicle a necessity. Our villa is located 5-10 minutes from the best beaches on the island, Porto Marie, Cas Abou, Playa Daibooi etc. If you stay in Mambo/ cabana beach area you have to drive 45-50 minutes to get to all theses beaches. Basically leaving you with Mambo / Cabana beach as your only option. The villa was designed to utilize Curacaos natural trade winds to keep the home cool. This is very common in most designs on Curacao. We hope to see you again sometime in the future!

Dear Pamela, thank you for your feedback. For future I would encourage you to read the Homeaway site for a property that you are renting, this way you are not surprised when you arrive! It clearly indicates on the Homeaway site that only the bedrooms have airco as they are not needed in the living areas. No where on the Homeaway property site does it indicate the villa is beach front. The photos of the views on the site clearly indicate your are up on a cliff and there are homes below you before the sea. I would highly recommend double checking the photos before booking in the future so you are not disappointed. The shower draining has since been repaired. We are happy you enjoyed your vacation. We just wish it was spectacular, which it could have been had you asked us to clarify or researched the homes details. All the best!

Being that we are on an island it does take several days to obtain services to repair dishwashers, pool lights etc. We had guests just prior to arrival that notified us at their departure. It was repaired for you within days. With regards to the neighbor, as per the rental agreement and website we clearly indicate the villa is not for partying or loud noise. Most of the neighbors are renters as well, not just owners. To have security called several times is an indication the noise levels were really high. The houses are a normal distance from each as in many communities and as is shown in the video posted on Homaway site which you would have seen. Even if there was only a home every other home the noise and sound would be heard regardless. You can hear noise from 3 levels down the hill as well from other villas if to loud. Your only solution is to rent in the future a villa at the top of the hill, with no ocean views, with no neighbors in site and several kilometers away from the community and beach. Please remember this is not a resort with a hotel. Downtown Willemstad is 30 minutes away so yes we always recommend a car. The airport is 20 minutes and all your major supermarkets 15-20 minutes away with many restaurants within 10-15 minutes. Thank you kindly for your feedback.
