When we checked in at the hotel, we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist, who was from Italy, and who didn't mind our many questions regarding our first visit to Malta. We were given a very nice and spacious room, with an equally spacious balcony facing south, so that we woke up to see the sun shining every morning.
As for the facilities, it left a little to be desired: although clean, the shower was not modern and the ket of water coming out of the shower head was not very strong. The inside of the kettle was not clean enough for us to boil any water. The beds were great, however. And it was very quiet. We slept like babies :-)
I had hoped that indoor pool would be something I could use to take a swim every morning before breakfast, but the small size of it turned it rather into a children's pool. That was a disappointment.
The breakfast is to be taken at the hotel next door, the Topaz, which is reached through a subway connecting the two hotels. The breakfast is a buffet and is quite cheap, 6 euros, and specifically made for British tourists, offering white beans, bacon, sausage, and chips. There is also yoghurt and muesli, but not a great selection of it. The bread a pretty dry and there is only one type of cheese and ham to go with the bread. We also had dinner there the first night of our stay. That was also a buffet, but we didn't think it particularly interesting, so we went out for the rest of our stay.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel.
