“Room was perfectly presented and very clean. Breakfast to go bag for £6pp was an unbelievable deal with the amount of food offered for that price. Amazing place for the price. Would stay again.”

“A charming pub in a great location, but can get crowded. Comfortable room, modern bathroom, everything clean and tidy. Coffee-making facilities in the room a plus. Good food in the restaurant (including breakfast) and a good selection of beers in the bar. Service is directed mainly towards bar customer, so it can be difficult to get attention as a hotel guest. Parking in a dedicated carpark just over the road.”

“We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests...

“Nice room (39) comfy bed, old-fashioned but beautiful armoire and dressing table. Coal effect fire, but central heating was excellent so didn't need it. Fitted bathroom with underfloor heating was really cosy. Really clean. Good breakfast and bar food was excellent . Highly recommended ”

“Har aldrig checkat in på hotell i en bar förut. Men det hände nu. Här kommer man rakt in i baren. Här äter man frukost också. Lite trappor och prång för att ta sig till rummet. Fina rum. Bra städat. Frukost var också bra. Och ett centralt läge vid strandpromenaden.”

“Hotellet var helt ok, om än väldigt lyhört. Det finns gratis parkering, men den är inte helt lätt att hitta när det är mörkt. Så ta med ficklampa och kanske sällskap första gången ni parkerar.”

“The Royal presents itself impeccably. It has quality everywhere you look. Our room was immaculate and food quality didn’t let us down. However, our experience at breakfast was a little disappointing as everything was being cleared away before we had finished eating!! And our charges to the room were taken from my credit card without any prior consultation. Still waiting for an email of my bill which was promised? All just seemed a bit unprofessional?”
