The "Love Shack" is in Statesboro, Georgia, home of the Georgia Southern Eagles and is the guests Bunkhouse on Freeman Farm. Freeman Farm is a 271-acre weekend retreat located between a half mile stretch of the Ogeechee River and Brooks Pond, a 32-acre lake. The newly renovated "Love Shack" while rustic still has the comforts of home; with a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of places to sit and relax, lots of outdoor space to roam, soft beds, and we even have wifi.
The space
The Farm is 12 miles from the Georgia Southern campus.

We are in the country but also close to shopping, grocery stores, and the hospital.

The Farm is located very close to the Statesboro Airport. If you were flying in, this would be a very convenient and quiet location for work.

We have the ability to board horses during your visit for an extra fee. There is also a camper hook up for your guests that may be made available for an extra fee.

The Farm is on a dirt road. It's a Farm!
Guest access
Freeman Farm is 271 acres. Guests are free to roam the entire Farm. You may fish, canoe, or kayak in the big Lake or river. The lake is a good walk South through the woods and is marked with signs. You can also walk North to the beautiful Ogeechee River and sit on the screened in boat launch by the train tracks and watch your worries go by. You are welcome to bring your boat to try your luck at the world renowned Ogeechee Red Breast.

There are horseshoe pits available to guests, located at the main house. The shoes are hanging on the tree.

The Love Shack is a bunkhouse for hunters and friends. During hunting season I would ask that walking on the farm is limited and that we discuss it prior to setting out in order to keep everyone safe.

Hunting or discharging a firearm of any kind is prohibited by guests without sole written permission from the owners.

There is a dedicated fire pit and area for grilling. Please do not move the grill or have any form of fire outside of the pit area. Sometimes wood is provided, check before your visit.
Other things to note
In addition to the newly renovated indoor bathroom and shower, we recently finished an outdoor shower. It has hot and cold water. If you want to enjoy the great outdoors, this may be a fun way to get a real Farm feeling. It has plenty of privacy. Check it out in the photos.

We can board horses during your stay in our horse barn and coral. You may also ride horses on our trails if you make arrangement prior to your visit. There is an additional charge for horse boarding and trail usage.

There is an RV hook up beside the Shack. If you have guests that you would like to stay and visit, we can work out an extra charge for camper hook up usage. Tent camping around the Shack is also an option if you discuss it with the owner prior to your visit. We want to meet your needs and make it an enjoyable Farm and outdoor experience for you.
