“Old-fashioned but very nice place to stay. I asked for a quiet room and they gave me a room towards the street.....as the hotel wasn't very busy i would've thought I'd be given a room towards the back.

“Friendly welcome. Tasty evening meal from a good choice of dishes. Very comfortable nights sleep and great full English breakfast to dsend us on our way. Lighting rather dim: bathroom possibly requires new fluorescent bulb: in bedroom, one of the three bulbs u/s so needs replscing and LHS bedside light bulb was quite dusty. Ligting ptroblem reported to management who took note and said they would sort asap.

The hotel is a little out of town, however the food in the hotel is excellent and has a wide choice, with a reasonable selection of vegetarian food, so no real requirement to go out.
