Fint läge men tråkig personal
Stony Brook är ett fantastiskt ställe på Long Island. Hotellet erbjuder små stugor, som håller hög standard, alla med utsikt över havet. Frukosten äts i huvudbyggnaden och lämnar verkligen en del övrigt att önska när det gäller urval.

Lovely hotel near the harbour
Nice hotel lovely room in the cottages but some of the facilities in the hotel need a bit of attention, for example bathroom door wouldn’t shut, blinds in cottage wouldn’t work and steps outside need attention. Needs mini fridge in the rooms. The lady who serves breakfast was very pleasant and friendly.

It was a great place to stay! My family and I loved the historic property and our room in one of the cottages. The staff was excellent, friendly, and provided a great experience!

The free breakfast was terrible but the restaurant for dinner was excellent. The chairs in the room were exceedingly uncomfortable. The parking spaces were too small. However, the atmosphere is charming. The concept of individual cottages was lovely. The beds were extremely comfortable. Cleanliness top notch. Service was A-1

Our rooms do not have microwaves but we do have 4 of our more luxurious suites that do have refrigerator units in the living room area. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your visit with us.

Not clean!
Stayed in a cottage for a one-night business trip. The restaurant/tavern on site is convenient and breakfast was included with my stay. Breakfast included pastries, cereal, yogurt, eggs, french toast, breakfast potatoes, sausage and bacon. No fresh fruit, but all else was good. Free wifi was accessible all throughout the property and in my room. The condition of the room was not great, however, and because of this I will not stay there again. The shower curtain was moldy and needed to be replaced and there were stains on the bed skirt. The level of cleanliness was definitely a disappointment. This property could have it all - quaint harbor, bustling restaurant, old world charm - but fell sincerely short and because of this I would not recommend staying here.

Charming room. Just a few suggestions. Flush out the coffee maker every now and then. The door would not close unless it was slammed a few times. We enjoyed our stay.

Charming, pleasanr place to stay.
Comfortable, private cabins. Many face the Icean. I would have asked for one of those if I had known. But, we have a charming patio seating area with a table and chairs and our room is spotlessly clean. Wood floors are nice. Cabins seem like they open into one other unit if you are traveling with friends.

A nice hotel with a bit of Long Island history.
Built in 1751, the Three Village Inn served as summer home for a succession of owners including a wealthy ship builder in the mid 1800s and a woman who converted it into a Women's Exchange in 1929 and a restaurant and hotel in 1939. It's a lovely old place rich in whaling history (as is much of the island's north shore) it has 27 rooms and I think four one-room cottages at reasonable prices. The rooms are rather plainly appointed though some of the furniture is antique and has a vaguely nautical motif. Our cottage also had a working gas-powered fireplace. Service is polite but laid back and not overly swift. There is a fine restaurant with New England seafood dishes on the menu. We had broiled salmon and almond trout and both were delicious. During off-season in mid-week both the bar and restaurant have few patrons making conversations private and romantic. Piped in 60s music seemed to be the theme while we were there. I'm told they do more business on weekends for weddings and receptions so mid-week is a good time to go if you want to avoid the crowds. The Long Island Sound is within view of the hotel's front door and some of the rooms and the nearby town of Stony Brook has many shops that look like they haven't changed much in 75 years. Many fine old colonial houses are in the area as well. It's all very quaint without being cutesy. We were there in early November and the trees were in fine color. The drive from the LIE is very beautiful this time of year.

Good in many ways
The people working at the hotel were all very pleasant. The grounds were beautiful and the location was great. The room could have used a bigger closet as it just had a hanging rack and there were no blackout curtains so it was rather bright. There was some kind of alarm on the door that scared us if we left the door open too long. The breakfast was not great. There was no fruit and the buffet was lacking. However lunch was amazing. Next time I would sleep in and miss the free breakfast and just buy lunch.

Very satisfied
It was a great place to stay. Perfect location for us. The cottage isn't high-end, but it was pretty spacious and clean, and the area is quiet and the view is great. The service for breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed a full breakfast menu. The eggs over easy were a little over done, but overall, it was still delicious.

Quaint and cozy
This was a very pleasant place to stay. We were in one of the cottages which was clean and comfortable. The location was lovely, right on the water and down the road within walking distance there was a little beach on the estuary for swimming (no life guard but very calm water).

Christmas Eve dinner
We got one of the cottages named after one of George Washington's spies (who lived nearby). Beautiful view of the harbor, but a bit of a tangled walk on the footpaths to the main house, where we had Christmas Eve dinner at Mirabelle and Christmas Day continental breakfast. Lovely place, wonderful staff, we'll try to make it back in the summer.

Beautiful, convenient, lots to do
Great restaurant on site. Lots of options in rooms. We stayed in a cottage with 2 queen beds. Beautiful view of the harbor and bay. Parking lot across the street has a nice kayak access point. There was a kayak rental stand with a nice variety of rides in the 14' range including SUP and rec/touring rides. Folks were very pleasant. Even better if you bring your own. Great history to the Inn as well. We'll stay there again!

We stayed in a cottage that was very nice, spacious and clean. Beds and lounge chairs very comfortable. Dining selections were all excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

Hübsches Hotel in typischem New- England Stil
An einen NYC Aufenthalt anschließend habe ich einen "ländlichen" Abstecher nach Long Island (Stony Brook) gemacht. Das Hotel liegt direkt an einem Mini-Yachthafen an der Long-Island- Nortshore, sehr ruhig, sehr idyllisch. Die 25 Zimmer des Hotels sind auf separate "Cabins" verteilt. Mein Cabin-Zimmer war neu renoviert , groß und sehr geschmackvoll dekoriert. Frühstück, gibt es im Restaurant im nahen Haupthaus. Stony Brook liegt ideal für Autoausflüge nach Montauk( Ostzipfel der Insel), an die Jones Beach (im Süden von Long-Island). Es gibt auch eine Zugverbindung zum Pennstation direkt nach NYC.

Good Service- So So accommodations
We were upgraded by the staff to the cottages from a deluxe room in the main building .. Thought that was a great thing cause we'd have a great view of the harbor. Unfortunately the cottages are dated..in need of renovation .. Walls need paint, carpet needs to be cleaned. A tiny sink and fridge, no place to make ice.. No ice buckets..thankfully we didn't pay for the upgrade. A positive was the staff...very nice and efficient, and the TVI Tavern.. Hadn't been there in years, pleasantly surprised..gone was the piano player, replaced with live music, a great selection of craft beers on tap, and fair prices($10) for a nice sized mixed drink with premium liquor.

Very pleasant and cozy.
We decided to relax this Thanksgiving and checked in at this cute and quaint hotel. We arrived a little early and that was no problem as the room was ready for us. We also decided to partake in the buffet dinner and they accommodated us even though we didn't have reservations. The food was great and so was the complementary breakfast. We also enjoyed walking around the grounds and waterfront scenery.

Cozy Historical Hotel Missing Attention to Detail.
I typically stay in a big chain but we mixed it up on this trip. The Hotel Bar and Restaurant were amazing at night, best bartending staff. Breakfast was awful, small portion, over priced, and bad service. Used to having conditioner in room, and basic hygienic supplies for sale at the front desk, but they said no I had to buy it 10 minutes down the road. Rooms were okay for an old inn, rusty shower curtain rod, dirty iron (Damages my pants) and stains on the towels. Attention to details are not strong points of the inn. Walls are super thin, heard normal conversation clear. Check-out staff had no idea what he was doing, double charged me, and didn't know what to do. Took 15 minutes to leave.

CANT COMPLAIN,very good service,they just have to do better with their maintence,a lot of small details need to take a look at including outside cottage grounds,it can be better,looks like it needs some attention expecially with their land scapping outside their cottages
