Cozy cabin in a beautiful rustic community w lakes, mountains, wineries & more.

Quiet relaxation in comfort is always the norm at Carol's cabin. Coffee on the front porch swing or the back raised deck begin each day in solitude and peace while viewing the beautiful natural area. 8 sleep comfortably in two bedrooms and a loft, and 2 more on large couches when needed. Some guests have stayed in the cabin for their entire visit, choosing to stay in their jammies while enjoying the WiFi, fireplace, coffee, and wine amongst friends. :-)

For those who want to get out, there is much to enjoy, all while still relaxing on your cabin vacation. Walking and hiking opportunities in the area are abundant and beautiful. Fairystone Lake, with a beach and playground, is very close and Philpott Lake is a 15 minute drive. The view of Philpott Lake from the parking area is amazing, and the marina is modern, clean, and picturesque. Goose Point on Philpott Lake is also a must see.

Several very quaint wineries are less than a half hour away; our favorite is Chateau Morissette. Olde Mill golf resort is our go-to course from the cabin; it is a wonderful mountain course, both beautiful and challenging. Several restaurants are within 15 minutes. The towns of Stuart and Floyd offer shopping, eating, and historical experiences. As part of the Crooked Road, Floyd is mostly known for its general store and the bluegrass bands that play everywhere, inside and out, on the weekends. We have driven to see that even when not staying at the cabin.

Beautiful cabin and fabulous hosts! We were in town for our son’s wedding at Fairy Stone State Park and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to rest throughout the festivities. It was less than a mile from the park and set in a gorgeous, quiet, woodsy area. We definitely recommend this rental!

I've stayed in a lot of cabins in Virginia and this was by far the best. This cabin was so clean and beautiful. The check in was so easy with just a code and the extras that were there like soap, coffee, paper products, etc. made it an easy stay away from home. The views from the porch were to die for. I also loved that it was only a few steps from Fairy Stone State Park. The owners of the cabin answered my messages right away. It was a perfect vacation. I would love to return some day!

The cabin is located in a beautiful setting. The cabin was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped. The check-in process was easy and the host was great about making sure we had what we needed. We really enjoyed our stay here, and we would highly recommend the cabin!

Family Reunion

Our family reunion was great at this beautiful cabin. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and has easy access to the lake and hiking trails. Check in and out was really easy. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cookware, and dishes. Lots of clean towels were available and beds were comfortable. Hosts were quick to respond to any needs or questions that arose. We had a great time and made lots of fun memories with our family.

Home away from home

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin! The cabin was well equipped with all necessities. It was nice sitting in the rocking chairs and swing on the front porch and looking out into the woods from the back. Only problem was the mosquitos but there was a can of OFF under the bathroom sink! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a relaxing and calm vacation that is in close proximity to state park with hiking trails. 20 minute drive to Walmart but it seemed faster.

Beautiful cabin. Perfect location close to Fairy Stone Park. Downstairs bedroom was a little too cool unless you like sleeping in a cool bedroom then it's perfect!! Would definitely visit this cabin agin!

This cabin was so nice and absolutely perfect for our stay near Stuart, VA. It was clean, comfortable, plenty of space for the 4 of us to really spread out and have our own spaces, and had everything we could have possibly needed. In the mornings we enjoyed coffee on the porch, during the day we enjoyed spending time in Fairy Stone State Park (so close!), and in the evenings we enjoyed the pool table and watching TV on the comfy furniture.

Family Holiday

My parents own a cabin in this neighborhood. We have outgrown their cabin and need extra bedrooms when we gather. This cabin was perfect! Very clean- kid friendly, and great hosts. We will be back!

Cozy Cabin Getaway-AMAZING

My girlfriend & I were able to getaway for some R&R. Our old stomping grounds 46 years ago. Bob is an AMAZING person and host. Communication could not have been any better. He was responsive every single time I contacted him. The cabin is absolutely stunning, cozy, clean, inviting and the tin roof was soothing to the soul with all the rain we had - a blessing. Completely relaxing getaway and really needed . Thanks zBob & Carol for sharing your beautiful cabin/home.

Quiet cabin with excellent location to lakes and state park

Highly recommend in quiet safe location close to lakes and state park. We came up for the races at Martinsville and will likely come up again sometime in the future during the summer warm months. Excellent communication with the host and easy to work with. Only down side is cell service but there is WiFi internet to use while there.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

The home was spacious with ample seating in each room. The kitchen has just enough supplies to cook or bake anything you want. We hiked nearby trails, and want to come back in warmer months to take advantage of the lake. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Last minute booking-Great Stay

My husband and I booked this cabin last minute for our anniversary weekend after our NC plans were cancelled b/c of Helene. I cannot say enough about how great this cabin was! It was way bigger than we needed for the 2 of us, but it was quiet, beautiful and the hosts are outstanding! Check In was seamless with a lockbox to get into the house. There is a very large upstairs loft area with multiple beds and downstairs has another master bed/bath with a game room/den area and a huge TV. We didn't go downstairs or up to the loft other than when we arrived to check it out because it was just the 2 of us. Very nice kitchen, dining area and living room area to relax-which we did! Beautiful and large Master Bedroom on the main floor with a nice bathroom attached. I would highly recommend staying here and we've even been discussing another trip to this cabin with our kids b/c there's plenty of room! You're only a couple of minutes from Fairystone Park, which also has a lake with a swimming area if you go during the summer. All in all, we had an absolutely fabulous time for our anniversary trip! Quiet getaway

Quiet, wooded cabin community. Cabin had everything we needed for our family of 6. Owner responds quickly to messages. Had a great time on Philpott lake in our boat and going on a Fairystone hunt.
