R&S Lakeside Cottage Beautiful Large Sand Beach Door County Limestone Fireplace

Our Cottage is only 10 minutes from downtown Sturgeon Bay and yet offers the Cozy atmosphere of a one lane rustic road and friendly neighbors. Our Sand beach is Awesome, Great for those morning walks to watch the sunrise with your pet and when the full Moon rises at dusk . This area has been a favorite for tourists for almost 100 years and they keep coming back sometimes permanently. A short walk to to the pierhead Lighthouse and just down the road from The Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Land Trust hiking area with excellent walking trails. Pet friendly with 2 bedrooms with queen-size beds, 2 couches and a rollaway bed comfortable for 4 adults and 2 children. We have Central Air conditioning and heating for year round comfort. The inside of the cottage has been completely updated keeping with the Historical character of the original Cottage using locally grown lumber whenever possible. There is wood burning fireplace for those cool nights, a screen room off the kitchen and a small front patio out front to relax outdoors.

Great Views
The views were great! Proximity to the beach is phenomenal. Cabin had everything we could ask for. Wifi is great. We loved the privacy. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Lake Michigan Fans
This was the perfect combination of comfort and coziness with a gorgeous view! Russ is an excellent host, and has thought of everything. Plus, the location was convenient to all we wanted to do and see. We look firward to a return visit. The bonus was our golden made a new four-legged friend.

Great Place to Relax and Explore
This place was fantastic. Perfect for a long weekend getaway. The location is great - unencumbered views of Lake Michigan with about a mile of unpopulated beach for my wife, my dog and me to explore. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Highly recommend this place for a long weekend getaway. Thanks for a great time Russ and Stacy!!!

New Year getaway
We loved the place cabin and the view. House is very cozy and we had amazing time. Morning view from the front of the lake is very relaxing. The bonefire at the beach great. Also pets freindly is a thanks you my dog had a blast. We are definitely coming back during summer to experience more of the area aslo to spent good time at the cabin.

Long weekend getaway with my 20 yr old son
Usually my son and I go camping the last weekend in august, and have some quiet time to hang out and chat. Life got in the way of it this year, so we booked this lovely accommodation. What a nice relaxing place, it was a bit of a sleet storm going on for part of it, but that is not unexpected in December :) We cooked and played games and relaxed, and we could not have asked for a better spot to do this in. My wife wants to come up with the daughters in the near future. Thanks again, I would recommend this property highly!

Birthday weekend
I really loved this place. Roomy, clean, had every comfort. Comfy beds.. Beach right out the door. Enjoyed my coffee with the sunrise. I will go back here. Only downside was the water in cabin. Kinda stinky. But not a deal breaker for the peaceful place. And best part we were able to take our loved pup!!!!

Awesome lakeside cottage
Wow! We loved everything! Russ & Stacy have lovingly restored this clean & cozy cottage. They are awesome hosts-friendly, responsive, easy to communicate with but not intrusive. The cottage is located on a quiet one lane road. Other cottages are close but they have different setbacks & trees in between so it still felt private. The lake and sandy beach are just steps outside the door. Get up early to see the sunrise-absolutely spectacular! Inside, there is a comfy reclining couch and TV in the main room & another smaller room with a TV and reclining couch. It was perfect for relaxing in the evening & the fireplace came in handy when the temp. dipped down to 46 degrees. (The heat also works very well). A wall of windows lines the front of the cottage so you can enjoy the view of the lake. When it's warm, open the windows and hear the waves as you drift off to sleep. The beds are very comfortable. A gas grill is available as well as a fully equipped kitchen for cooking. There is even a large screened porch off the back to enjoy dinner outdoors without any bugs. Russ & Stacy have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. The only minor drawback is the drinking water is kind of nasty (very common in this area). There is an odor esp. when using hot water. Not a deal breaker-just something to be aware of. It is safe to use & the hosts provide ample bottled water for cooking & drinking so other than the odor, it's not a problem. Highly recommend! We'll be back!
