“An exceptional little motel that I would highly recommend for a night or two stop over. Biggest and only issue was that bathroom door did not close properly. Obviously a simple maintenance item that did not cause any real issues with our stay. Bed is extremely comfortable, room was spotless and well appointed. I will be staying there again next time I am in t Sault Ste Marie”

“My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!”

“Very easy to ask questions as the host is always nearby! Also a beautiful location in a charming little rustic cabin! It was nice to unplug and get a little sunburnt. ”

“This cabin is pristine. The pictures didn’t do it justice. Our host Dan was great with communication. Very responsive to any and all questions and even took time to share about the area history. Dan thought of everything. No detail was left out. We will definitely stay here again. Such a wonderful experience. My only regret was we didn’t stay longer. ”

“Wow! We were absolutely amazed by the wonderful hospitality of these hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed and provide such a peaceful and gorgeous setting on Sugar Island. The house was perfect for our large family and everyone was very comfortable. The small store on site has ice cream, cold drinks and unique treasures. ”
