Right from the start you feel that it is going to be different. With a private carpark, accessed via the No Through Road off Market Place, you are in a courtyard with two impressive stone Gothic Revival buildings - the old Sessions House (1841) and the matching County Hall of 1927 - which now houses the hotel.

“Absolutely awful… Stains all over the walls, stains all over the carpet.. Musty smell… It was so bad, we lasted 15 mins, we simply could not stay in that room on the top floor.. We handed the key to a staff member, left the building and rebooked at a hotel 20 metres away.. ”

The parking was easy, right outside the door, although it was during a quiet time for the hotel.

“Everything was fantastic after we got our key but what happened was it was too much noisy and in the bathrooms there was no hand wash but room wise fantastic had no problem and hopefully there was a fan there because it gets quite hot in there but overall a fantastic place to go to and I go every 1 to 2 weeks and I like that it’s in one place where I got food near me and corner shops so yeh ”
“A lovely room to the rear and separate to the Inn. Room 4 - such a comfortable bed.
Plenty of hot water. Car parking space in front of the room. Cooked breakfast of your choice. Friendly family running the Inn.
Went to the area for a music festival, only went 1 day. If we attend next year we will stay at the Bull Inn again

“The staff greeted me professionally and friendly too making me feel very welcome.The room had fantastic views and the shower was fantastic and the tea/ coffee was good quality ie PG tips/Nescafé. Microwave was a real bonus. Only thing you need to do is pay attention to the warn out flooring and a small whole on grey blind. Will always stay there as great staff, fantastic rooms and excellent value for Money.”
“Run by a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful. Our evening meal of steak was cooked to perfection. Lovely to have a bar and to be able to have dinner on site. Tea and coffee provided in the room. Breakfast was cooked to order and once again compliments to the chef!

Really lovely hotel, run by an amazing couple Sam & Richard. Nothing is a bother for them. They go above and beyond.
Car park areas for approx 3 cars at hotel, but they also have another larger car park area essentially just around corner. Always got parked there too.
We stayed in the Deluxe Double Rooms with Ensuite with wonderful showers.

"Lite äldre stil på rummen, men rent och fräscht. Nyrustat badrum. Jättetrevligt läge och bra med fri parkering. Väldigt varm på rummet då det var ca 30 grader ute, ingen ca, men fläkt fanns som hjälpte lite. Trevligt att radion med musik var på när vi kom in i rummet. Rymligt med dubbelsäng, skrivbord och soffa. Otroligt centralt läge med mysig uteplats."
