Great relaxing getaway...everything we needed.
4 in our family stayed for 5 nights. Very spacious with plenty of room for everyone. On the go everyday and the cabin with beautiful sunsets was wonderful to come home to. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Cozy lake house!
We had a wonderful time relaxing at this property and adventuring to the neighboring attractions. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The fireplace was our favorite. Every morning the lake showed us a new view.

Lake Life
This was our first stay at Poulin Shores and it will definitely not be our last! The lake views were spectacular from inside the house as well as on the deck. We have been to many lake houses and this is one of our new favorites. My family enjoyed fishing the lake as well as a bit of kayaking. The house is clean and had all of the necessary amenities. We look forward to the opportunity to stay here again.

Exceeded Expectations
Ideal setting + home for a family vacation of any size. We set the devices aside and were able to connect with the beauty of the lake, stars and sunsets. The home is a perfect set up and felt very spacious, the hammock in the front yard was full most of the time, and with 20 steps to your feet in the lake, the week felt endless with the calming effects of the water. We adapted to lake life quickly, and loved every second of it!

Wow! Views of Lake Champlain!
This was an amazing find! We were forced to cut our stay at another place short so we were without a place to stay for two nights. I wish we would have just booked a week here. It was AMAZING! We enjoyed the lake even in the rain and our dog loved the back yard. This place had BEAUTIFUL sunsets over Lake Champlain. It was large enough for a family reunion and well stocked. Our host was the absolute nicest person ever and was completely responsive when we text. Thank you! Will be looking for this listing again next summer.

Just what was needed
This was a last minute plan and we were lucky a scheduling glitch made the cottage available for a shorter stay than typically required. We brought our dogs and covered the furniture and beds with our own coverings. The place was nicely stocked and even though parts of the cottage were older, the bathroom was fresh and large! The common space and sleeping arrangements would be great for a family or group of friends. It was really hot during our stay and the AC units were wonderful to have. The screen porch was a nice way to enjoy the outside and not worry about bugs or our dogs bothering walkers or joggers. The location was awesome! We loved that it was on a private quiet road so we could walk safely during the day or after dark. It's hard to find a property no right on a main road. The beach is rocky so be sure to bring your beach shoes. The backyard would be perfect for children wanting to run and play. A big apple tree attracts deer looking for a snack. Great place and we will definitely rent again. Thank you Poulins! You have a very special spot.

What a fantastic place to recharge.

More than your moneys worth
The property is Gorgeous inside and out. The pictures do not do it justice. It was spotless when we arrived. We had everything we needed. The neighborhood was awesome. We had an issue with our boat and needed to get it out of the water ASAP. The neighbors let us use their ramp. The last day of vacation came way to soon. Thankyou for sharing your home with us, I would stay here again in a Heart beat.

Wonderful, peaceful, tranquil
If you are looking for a complete get away this is the place for you. We felt transported to a different time and place. The lake afforded amazing views of Lake Champlain with the Adirondack Mountains in the background. The lake front area was a great place to sit, relax, reflect and rejuvenate. We only wish we could stay longer. We explored the local town having had delicious meals to lesson cooking. When we did cook, the house had everything we needed. The house is spacious, clean and had terrific views of the lake from the living room, kitchen, dining area and front bedroom. Don't miss out on having a Creamie as it is the local treat. Get the maple crunchy topping. We have no complaints and hope to return.

Sunsets fit for royalty!
Everything from start to finish was effortless. The property was spotless and stocked with everything that we needed to make it feel like home. Chris was incredibly responsive when we reached out with any questions. The pictures do not do this view justice! Mornings spent on the shore, days spent playing in the yard and evenings on the porch watching the sunset. It’s peaceful and serene. We felt like we had our own slice of the world. We will absolutely be back! Highly recommend!

What a true delight at peak Fall season to stay in a warm and comfortable cabin. We were so lucky !
We felt so comfortable and almost 'at home' in this cabin. The warm colors and ambience was a true experience and add to that the beautiful views from the living room area onto the lake. The sky views were stunning and what a treasure the owners have to share it with us .

Great Cabin!
Great cabin right on the shore of Lake Champlain! Wonderful view and beautiful sunsets! The “cabin” is huge! Would sleep 7 comfortably! Nice comfy beds with down comforters. Plenty of storage and for once, plenty of hangars! Kitchen is adequate, with any kind of utensil you may need. The skillets were a little rough, but I don’t blame that on the owners, I have found that no matter how much VRBO owners try to provide good cookware, people manage to ruin them 😢. Plenty of dishes, glassware, and silverware is stocked. Huge bathroom, adequately stocked. Chris was very responsive to all questions and communication. Tons of books and games provided. The only complaint that we had was that the TV in the bedroom would not work 😕. But the one in the living room worked great. To use the one in the living room: Press TV, All Power, Input, and OK. Great front porch, and an Apple tree in the backyard! I will warn you!: Check the trash cans on Thursday, because they were completely full and we were not able to put our trash in them. Trash only runs once a week on Friday morning, and you are not allowed to put the cans out until Thursday night. We just “assumed” that the cans would be empty and we checked out on Wednesday. We felt awful, that we had not understood about the trash situation, but I contacted Chris and I believe that we resolved that issue. The owners are constantly making improvements to the house, and we would definitely stay there again! It is rustic, but that’s what we were expecting, and we enjoyed it very much! Thank you for sharing your home with us! Note: we visited Brannon Family Farms and Sugarbush Farms and bought tons of Maple Syrup and Cheese! Also visited several apple orchards, and everyone was so nice and friendly!! Wonderful Vacation!!!!

Another amazing week at Poulin Shores
We just returned from our 4th summer at the Poulin's cottage. We absolutely love our time there and look foward to it all year long! Each year there are improvements (AC this year!) and the house is super clean, well stocked and comfortable. We spend hours sitting on the screened in porch and relaxing in/by the lake. St. Albans is also a very nice little city (we like Catalyst coffee shop and 14th star brewing) and Burlington isn't far either for a night out. We can't wait to come back next year!

Weekend get away
The house was Great! The listing doesn't do it justice. Perfect lovation right across from the lake. Perfect for my 2 kids to go fishing in the morning. The house is clean and much bigger than we expected. Our weekend in Vermont was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.

A nice fall getaway
We had a good time, the place is nice and clean, and very spacious , well kept and in a good location so I can launch my boat and go fishing close by. We're already planning to come back in June as we've booked the place again! The only problem we had this time of year was the wind was relentless and blowing out of the North made tough for fishing. But that's Mother Nature you can't control it

Scenic and lovely
We loved our stay at this charming cottage on Lake Champlain! It was spacious yet cozy inside, with plenty of room for our family. Loved all the games, the large backyard, the deck overlooking the water, and the well-equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was large and included a stacked washer/dryer. The location was fantastic. We jogged around the area (even saw a fox!) and took a quick canoe excursion too. While the cottage is a bit of a drive from Burlington, we didn't mind the scenic trip at all. Stop for groceries in St. Alban's or Swanton, as this location is wonderfully secluded. We would love to return!

Comfortable and Relaxing Cottage
We enjoyed our early September visit to the cottage. The cottage was neat and clean and well organized. There was a variety of appliances that should meet anyone's needs for the stay. The beach area was a bit unkept but not to the point that it was undesirable. We enjoyed the stay and hope to be able to do it again.

Excellent Location for R&R
What an excellent location on the Lake. Wonderful views (& sunsets) of the lake & islands from onshore deck, screened in porch, or relaxing inside on the comfy leather sofa thru big picture windows. The cabin was much more spacious than I had expected. Furnishings were clean and comfortable. Great place to rest and relax, or getting out in the water on the canoe or biking down the road, as they provided lots of "toys". Chris, the owner, was terrific to work with and quick to respond to any questions. I would definitely rent from him again.

Exceeded our expectations !
CAUTION This is not the Marriott ! The Marriott does not have the warm Vermont vibe that this cabin exudes. Clean, well appointed and well equipped Poulin Shores was as advertised and provided us with a great vacation experience. Great restaurants in St. Albins for those nights that you don't want to cook. Side trips to Montreal and Burlington were quite doable. Always returned to the cabin for incredible sunsets over the water. Thanks Chris and Jen for allowing us to spend a week here. Hope to return. Excellent! Relaxing and comfortable!
We had everything we needed! It was a fabulous weekend! There was about an inch or two of snow the night we arrived and the weather was chilly all weekend. The beds were made with blankets and comforters so we were warm and toasty while sleeping. The camp was plenty warm as well! Chris Poulin was very prompt and helpful with any questions or issues we had. The view was breathtaking and the surroundings were tranquil and quiet. We would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Quirky, charming. We were in St Albans for a weekend event and were looking for an alternative to a bland motel room, well this was it! Just what we were looking for. It was a little chilly for beach sitting, but we had a lovely sunset from inside.

Great place to get away!
We had a wonderful time at this camp. It's right on the lake and very quiet - a perfect getaway. Chris is an excellent host. The house is rustic but comfortable. The beach is great (with 4 chairs provided), though water shoes are a good idea. The water was a bit too rough for canoeing most of the time we were there, but a canoe is provided. Boats can also be rented on the calmer bay side at Kill Kare State Park a few miles down the road. Sunsets are amazing. It was just what we were looking for in terms of a calm family getaway.

We stayed at the cottage for three nights in early June. It's a beautiful spot and a nice quiet location, yet still close to St. Albans and not too far from Burlington. Great bird-watching and fishing in this area. We would do it again!

Amazing stay, will be back for sure!!!
Myself and a friend spent 3 nights and had an amazing time. When we first arrived we met the cleaning crew (we were 4 hours early) and they were without a doubt the most amazing people I have met in some time. Cabin was excellent, perfect location about 7 min from town. Right on the lake!! I have no complaints and look forward to many more vacations at this cabin. Chris is an outstanding host and is very quick to respond to emails or phone calls. Honestly the best place to vacation if you have a family and a boat because the fishing at St Albans Bay is phenomenal!

Beautiful Lake View!
Beautiful lakeside location with access to amenities in town. Loved hearing the loons at night! Cabin is spacious and clean. Suited our needs perfectly. Chris checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Will visit again.

Spacious house, great view, easy to be here
Only a quiet gravel road separates the house from the shore. You're on a tiny little spit of land on a quiet corner of Lake Champlain (at least at the end of November; there's almost no one here.) From the main living space (dining, living, kitchen) one looks out the front windows through the screen porch, across the road to the deck with benches and chairs built above the gravel slope down to the water, and from there west across the lake. There's a place on the shore for a bonfire, tho we had too much rain. Lots of room indoors for 2 adults, 2 dogs, 2 teens and a pre-teen. I taught my kids to play Scrabble and there are decks of cards, crayons and games for little kids. Heat, air conditioning, washer-dryer, well-equipped kitchen -- we came for Thanksgiving and could have cooked and carved our turkey here instead of at home. 2 refrigerators. No dishwasher; plenty of dishes or bring paper. 2 kinds of coffee makers, no popcorn maker but there's a microwave. Remember to drink the bottled water (provided), but the filtered lake water is just fine for washing, bathing/showering, making coffee, boiling potatos, and giving the dogs to drink. The water pump in the back utility room is barely noticeable and the rest of the house is very quiet. So is outside. Big back yard has a nice tie-out for a dog, and you can reach it out the back door without stepping off the low back deck, which also has gas grill and the trash and recycling cans. Front bedroom (queen) has view of the lake, sliding doors, and ceiling fan. Middle bedroom (bunk beds) has sliding doors to a little raised deck in the back. Back bedroom (queen) has a side window facing south. Wifi, limited TV (glad enough not to turn it on). Sheets, towels, pillows and lots of blankets provided. Bring soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent if you're staying that long, spices, oil and vinegar, salt pepper and sugar--there may be some, but it depends on what others have left behind. Plenty of cleaning supplies should you need them. Chris was attentive (via HomeAway messages) and made sure we had the info we needed before arriving and leaving. Answered questions quickly. Would we come back? You bet!

A great cabin for the fall season

A great place to vacation with your family!!
We had a great week at the Poulin lake house. It's a cute cottage with a stunning view!! It also has a very nice deck overlooking the lake (amazing for a quiet morning coffee) and a nice, big backyard for playing. There are plenty of fun attractions for families. Our favorites were: the Ben and Jerry's factory, the Cabot store, The Cider Mill, Saint Albans City and Burlington. We also enjoyed daily walks up and down Samson Road, canoeing, fishing and had lake front bonfires!!

Amazing Vermont getaway!
We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 toddlers. Chris was very communicative about our arrival and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. The house was very clean and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the cottage was way bigger than we expected; the kitchen, living area and dining area are all open to each other so we had plenty of communal space. The bedrooms were very quiet due to their layout which was great because we were traveling with a 15 month and 17 month old but they didn't bother each other despite sleeping in adjacent rooms. The screened porch was amazing for dinner, relaxing at night or just having a smaller room for the toddlers to play in without having to chase them all around :) The beach deck was awesome and pretty unique and the beach itself was great. It's rocky but that was really a plus for us as the babies loved playing in the rocks and there was also a bit of sandy area to for them to play in. Once you walk out a few feet into the water there was also a sandy but shallow area we we could sit with the babies and play. The water itself was clear and not seaweed-y. This was definitely the best beach we've encountered at the various rentals we've stayed at on the lake. The kitchen was well equipped and we definitely appreciated the convenience of the water cooler and two refrigerators (can you say beer fridge??!). We loved St. Albans and hope next time we can explore a little more of the surrounding areas but for this trip we were happy staying at the house almost the whole time. Burlington is a quick 45 minute drive and you can get to Canada in about 20 minutes if you're looking for more to do. We also enjoyed Kill Kare State park for an afternoon (10 minutes or so). Grocery stores and Walmart about 15 minutes. Thank you to the Poulin Family for sharing their house with us and we sincerely hope to return next summer.

St Albans cottage on Lake Champlain
The cottage on Lake Champlain was wonderful. The place was big enough for 6 adults and a 2 year old. Along with being roomy, it was neat and clean. The owner was attentive, promptly answering each email I sent before our trip. He was also available to answer any question or concern while we were there. The lake is beautiful. Our bedroom was breezy and had a view of the lake. The other bedrooms had an air conditioner. The sunsets are beautiful. We also enjoyed the fire pit on the shore. Our only disappointment was the inability to moor our boat. We needed to launch it each time we wanted to go out. Unfortunately because of the snowless winter, we couldn't launch near the cottage but had to go some distance away. Also, We did find the people who lived on the street kind and engaging and knowledgeable about the area. We would definitely recommend this cottage to others. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are only sad it is over.

Perfect house for the perfect vacation!
Great place! It was clean and cozy, but with enough space for our whole group. There was also a large grill on the back porch, so that was a great amenity. And as an added bonus, the nightly sunsets were spectacular! Overall an amazing value for the house, the location, and the views! We were so pleased with the accomodations. I would highly recommend this house!
