Staying at Al.Ma Maris means looking out directly over more than 2,500 years of history. The apartment boasts a truly rare feature: a spacious 45 sqm panoramic terrace on top of the building, offering a spectacular 360 degree view over the rooftops of Ortigia, the sea and the Temple of Apollo one of the very few places in the world where you can look down on a Greek temple dating back to the 6th century BC.

The property is set in an elegant late 19th century building in the Italian Liberty style. The building stands on unique historic foundations, once part of an Arab minaret later converted into a church authentic evidence of the island s layered cultural history.


The Interiors and Comforts: on the floor below the terrace there is a bright, intimate and quiet space, ideal for a couple:


Entrance and Kitchen: a welcoming entrance space with a fully equipped kitchen (induction hob, microwave oven, coffee machine) and a lovely breakfast corner.
Sleeping Area and Bathroom: a double bedroom with a dining area, wardrobes and a flat screen TV, a full bathroom with shower, and a washing machine available to guests.

We send a code to collect the keys from a safety deposit box along with detailed instructions on the day of arrival. Access to the house is in a pedestrian area.

Please note that there are stairs to reach the apartment and the terrace which are located on the third floor of the building. Not suitable for people with mobility difficulties. Pets not allowed. Extra beds not available. Access from the pedestrian area.

The bus and train station is about a 15 minute walk away and is located in Syracuse. Buses connect Ortigia with Catania Airport (INTERBUS) and with various locations on the coast and inland of Sicily. The SAIS bus line connects Ortigia with Syracuse and the more distant seaside areas, such as Arenella and Fontane bianche. Ortigia is a perfect island to visit on foot or by bike. Every point of interest can be reached in a few minutes. The entire historic center is a ZTL area, so it is not possible to park along the streets (except for residents). The recommended parking is the Talete municipal public parking, less than 5 minutes walk away. No reservation required. 15 o'clock
