It doesnt get much flatter than the Tablelands Hwy 11 in Barkley Tablelands! I was astounded by just how arid and flat it was, I truly love landscapes like this - nothing makes you feel more like you have escaped reality than staring off into the distance on an endless plain. A highlight was a small dam or waterhole on the side of the hwy where I saw my first wild Brolgas, a huge and impressive Australian bird. There are lots of road trains up here as you get into cattle country so drive to the conditions and always slow down and give them plenty of space on this just a bit bigger than single lane hwy!

We enjoyed our stay in our dinky bungalow. Lovely pool. The cleaning staff were very friendly and smiley. We were very upset when we arrived because the chef was on holiday so there was no food! Travelled from Europe. Requested a room with a view on high floor. Got a room on ground floor with view to a parking lot. Poor customer service… Room not clean. Fräscht och prisvärt!
Behövde bara en natt men hade gärna stannat längre! Rymligt, rent, bra kök, stor kyl och frys, ordentlig ac, gratis parkering. Det enda jag skulle säga var att det är en bra bit från stan som ligger nere på halvön söderut, men där gick en buss (#4) för $3, 20 min. Ligger en bra affär (woolies) bara ...
