We recently spent an amazing week at Zoco Riad and can’t say enough good things about it. First let me say that if you are looking for first class luxury and all the pampering that comes with it, go to the Hilton or other big name hotel in the new part of town, but if you want to experience a real Moroccan Riad, in the old historic medina in a true family run setting, there is no better place in Tangier. Upon arrival Isla and Ahmad make you feel right at home by serving you fresh mint tea and Moroccan sweets, the rooms are small but authentic, the Riad is traditionally tasteful with many old world touches. Every morning you are served a traditional Moroccan breakfast of fresh fruits, amazing breads, local jams and honey, eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice,coffee and tea. There is a very pretty roof terrace where you can have your breakfast served while enjoying the sounds of the medina coming to life in the morning. The family who grew up in the Medina, put their heart into making this a great experience for anyone wishing to get a true taste of Tangier and Medina life.
