The surrounding area was very pretty but the overall hotel wasn’t ideal. For starters, our room tv didn’t work at all, neither did our phone, so we couldn’t get any room service or contact the front desk at all because they absolutely did not pick up their phone from our cell phone. We told front desk about it and he seemed new and flustered, gave us a free breakfast card, that we certainly did not use because their breakfast ends fairly early. We needed ice and the ice machine was not working after walking a fairly good amount from our building to the other building where the ice machine is located so front desk had security get us ice from the attached restaurant, Goosefeather, so once we were out of ice we were also out of luck because that’s private entry lol After spending time in the indoor pool, which was okay, we went in for a shower and one of the towels had a stain. Could we just call down for another one? Certainly would have if the phone worked. Overall, the resort is okay, it has a nice atmosphere and ambiance but the staff and the basics of a hotel didn’t meet a good standard. If it wasn’t for the resort the allure of this location would definitely be below sub par unfortunately.

It was the perfect place for a retreat. The grounds are beautiful, well kept, and absolutely peaceful. The staff is courteous, friendly, and quicj to respond if needed.

I had to go in reception desk 5 times because the door key wasn’t working the receptionist was nice and helpful but this is not fair .u go for relax there not to get stressed if the key wont open the door .

this property has an out of date key card system that doesn't work. I was locked out of my room multiple times during my stay and I noticed other guest locked out on other floors with the same issue as well

I like the property very much. We were married here 49 years ago. We are in the Kings Mansion. Great views. Rooms need updating. TV cable box does not work. So no TV. Not real happy. Only staying one night so can live with it.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful, and it's in a great location to get to Irvington, Tarrytown, and Sleepy Hollow. The room itself was meh, and I would HIGHLY recommend requesting a room on an upper floor because my husband and I were ground level and the people in the room above us were stomping around all night and I literally could not sleep. So it wasn't great. But it is a beautiful property.

Looks much older and more rundown than the photos. We got woken up at 2am by people yelling and slamming doors in the hallway. The rooms were nice though and looked like the photos.

While the grounds are quite beautiful, and everyone on staff was very polite, this was not exactly resort-quality lodging. The bedroom was pretty average, bedding and linens were not great, the cable channels were super limited, and the key card reader was constantly malfunctioning so I couldn’t get into my room, even when housekeeping tried to help. The breakfast buffet was plentiful but aside from the fresh fruit, the food was not good. Generally, I wouldn’t be bothered by any of this if I were paying half the price and they didn’t call it a resort. But I bet it’s a fun place to go for conferences and events.

Very cool property with lots of different amenities. The staff didcnot seem well trained or attentive. They really do a poor job of letting you know whats available or answering questions. Very different from hotels with exoert customer service.

Our room needed updating; looked very worn for the price. The toilet was leaking onto the bathroom floor creating a dangerous condition. Music from some event started playing loudly at 11pm. Overall I would stay somewhere else probably for less cost.

My family and i love staying at Tarrytown House Estate during the months of winter and early spring. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. We like walking around the property and enjoy the scenery. We enjoyed having breakfast at the Winter Palace and dinner at Goosefeather. Food is very good. We also apent time at the heated indoor pool and sauna.

I had a confirmed reservation in the King House. Pictures showed a very classy room - hardwood floors, four-poster bed, fireplace, interesting architecture, etc. When I got to my room, it was a below average, totally typical hotel room. I went back to the front desk and they said I couldn't stay at the King House (I'm still not exactly sure why) and they gave me a free breakfast coupon to "make it up to me". That's it, not even an I'm sorry or an acknowledgment that I was, to my mind, massively downgraded. I felt scammed. When I went to breakfast, it was raining out and the roof was actively leaking right behind me. The whole place just seemed like it was lacking in basic upkeep. For example, I noticed a fountain that had trash floating in it my entire stay, so I wasn't as enchanted by the grounds as I'd hoped to be. So if you don't like your room, the restaurant, or the grounds, that's a problem.

Thank you for reaching out to us.We started a refurbishment program on our King Mansion about 7 weeks ago. The first step was to replace half of the roof. After confirmation that the replacement addressed all our leaks, we then began stripping and painting each of the 10 rooms in that building. Each room has its own identity but four of the rooms have either a balcony or sundeck. The difference is one floor - balconies are on the second floor and sundecks are on the third floor but if it is raining outside, you can still go out on the balcony since it has a roof.We took all 10 rooms out of order for 10 days. We had four painters working daily.The condition of the rooms required us to extend for another week. We finished half the rooms the previous week and all the rooms by March 21. That weekend, we experienced continuous rains. On Sunday, two of the rooms had very slow leaks. We went out on the roof but could not confirm the cause and it could have originated from the siding. We decided to go ahead and patch the ceiling in both rooms since the leaks were very light and we had not had any leaks since the roof was repaired. When we started to repair the ceiling in the room you had reserved, half of the ceiling came down.Barbara, I am sorry that we disappointed you. I would like to invite you back for a complimentary stay so that you can experience the room you originally had booked. I would only request that you are flexible with dates and could give me some advance notice - again, we only have two sundeck rooms and the two balcony rooms, and these rooms are very popular.

The Tarrytown House is a truly beautiful location with a lot of character and charm. We went in the winter so did not get to appreciate the grounds although it was very pretty with a little snow on the ground. the rooms lacked a little luster, they seemed dated and a little worn. The indoor pool and sauna were sub par. We enjoyed the main restaurant for a few drinks, wandered into the main castle like building but was not sure if we could enjoy the area as it appeared to be closed. The Cellar bar was closed so could not appreciate that area. We did Uber into town for dinner and drinks which was nice. But since it was winter all of the surrounding attractions like lyndhurst, Kyukut and Sunnyside were closed for the season... so we may try again in the spring.

Very conveniently located near Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow with quick drives to the downtown of both where a lot of dining and shopping options were located. The facility itself could use some updating and was not the cleanest it could have been- this is predominately referring to the pool and the carpets in the common spaces. It should be noted that the property itself has a lot of stairs--not sure if there is a part that is more disability friendly. We enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for a long weekend without kids.

Nice and clean room, although it felt a little empty like something was missing from the room to keep it cozy. The bed is comfortable but it could use some rugs under the bed or around so it doesn't move lol

balcony with view of the hudson was amazing in the king mansion. but the place has so many many steps. there is no elevator, though the staff offered to take our packages upstairs. the pool is located down and up so many staircases you could have been in alice in wonderland running running.....
