En blandad upplevelse
Fint hotel, rent och snyggt och MYCKET bra mat. Men, höga priser för Mocambique och två saker dra ner betyget väldigt mycket: Frukosten (plus för att den är tillgänglig från 06:00!) som består av processad amerikansk ost (BLÄ!), dåligt bröd, pulverkaffe och nån form av smaklöst örtte (inget svart fanns att få). Hemsk frukost, mitt viktigaste mål mat på dagen. Det andra sänket var avsaknaden av schampo och duschtvål i badrummet?? Aldrig tidigare sett på ett hotell på den prisnivån. Plus? Joo - en makalös utsikt över Zambezi och, som sagt, extremt bra mat.

Exellent infrastructure but poor restaurant
The hotel is new and very modern with excellent facilities and rooms. Breakfast is ordinary and the restaurant menue very limited.

Not much - Some staff were friendly. the pool looked nice but was green and taped off from use. The receptionist was absent at checkout and unresponsive at check in. The place was empty with staff standing around in a group and talking to each other in an empty poorly set up dinning area. I don't think they have done any updating in 5 years.

Nice Spot in Tete
Great location on the Zambezi River. Staff is really helpful and the food is decent. We had some problems in both bathrooms with plumbing and the showers. Overall, a really good experience.

Disappointed
When we arrived, we had to change rooms twice-- once because the head board was ragged and we were worried about parts falling on us as we tried to sleep and a second time b/c the toilet wasn't working. The morning we left, there was no water at all, meaning none of the toilets flushed. This left us with a very unsanitary condition. We have been coming to this hotel for three years and we have had very positive stays before. This time, our stay was gross.

Great Stay
Very nice room. Excellent service. The food is the restaurant was very good. Only drawback was the WiFi was not very good. Last 2 days it was completely out.

Séjour confortable dans l'ensemble. L'hôtel est en très bon état, idéalement situé au bord du Zambèze. quelques bémols: - le personnel qui parle très peu l'anglais, assez surprenant pour un hôtel de ce standing - le restaurant offre une carte un peu trop simple pour le snacking et le room service - le wifi n'était pas toujours fonctionnel.

No TV news except in Portuguese. Terrible food options. Terribly prepared. Crappy area no fun at all. And useless wi fi. Could not even send emails.

Food and beverage is very poor. Taxis referred by hotel unreliable. No iron available for the room. Wifi intermittent. Check in was disorganised.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at VIP. The location is very good and rooms are comfortable. On the negative side is there is not Kettle in the room, so no coffee or tea. For a 4 star Hotel, the breakfast is extremely basic and no waiters are in sight.

Comfortable and quiet hotel. The front desk staff is nice, but slow and inexperienced. The view of the pool and Tete bridge are lovely. The Resturant dinner meals and breakfast buffet were good, but only freezedried instant coffee is offered and their bar has an extremely limited selection.

Slow service, but good hotel
The hotel is really nice and modern and very comfortable, but the service was non existent. Ordered a chicken salad at the pool, it took an hour. The reception staff was very slow. Overall it is a nice hotel with a view onto the Zambezi and I would stay again.

Beautiful Property But Service Needs Improvement
This is a beautiful, contemporary property overlooking the Zambezi River, and the rooms are exquisite. It’s probably considered THE place to stay in Tete. However, my experience with the staff was less than ideal. I had made an online reservation, but the lady at reception couldn’t find it. The hotel was basically empty, so it wasn’t an issue. English is not widely understood by a lot of the staff, including at reception. I needed to catch a bus to the coast, and the hotel shuttle bus dropped me off at the bus station to purchase a ticket for the next day. They told me they were too busy with other commitments to wait for me a few minutes to take me back to the hotel, so I caught a taxi. When I got back to the hotel, the driver was already back, so obviously I was misled. I asked for a wakeup call at 4:00 am to catch the bus, and they called at 4:30. My taxi was organized for 5:15 and at 5:00 I was called and told the taxi driver was waiting for me. I explained that I would be ready at the scheduled time, in spite of being called a half hour late. They called back twice before 5:15 asking why I wasn’t ready. Obviously, I was VERY annoyed! Due to the early departure, I missed the buffet breakfast, but was promised anything I wanted prepared and delivered to my room, but instead received a cold boxed meal that was unappetizing. I generously rated this property 4 stars because of the quality of the facilities, which are first rate.

Adequate stay in coal town
Decent hotel for a business trip. Wifi up and down at times. Buffet meals hit and miss but always had at least one excellent dish so overall was satisfied. Room is ok. Tv has sports and premium movie channel. Some staff with very good English.

Fantastic rooms, very comfortable stay.
Short stay, but the pool area was fantastic, rooms are great quality, Great views over the Zambezi. Breakfast was pretty average. Unsure whether underground parking is for guests, but was asked to park in the 50 degree sun.

Surprisingly good and great value for money
My first visit to Mozambique and obviously first stay at VIP Executive, Tete. After a smooth check in process less than two minutes, I found the hotel clean and amenities rather good for the location. Breakfast and wifi were included and were very good, even for vegetarians, liberal helpings of fruits, cereals and bread with good tea and coffee ensured that the first meal of the day was healthy and sumptuous. Much beyond my expectations. Staff was very helpful and service oriented. The only item on wish list is a Coffee maker in the room - VIP Grand in Maputo has it! Why not at Tete too? If I ever go back to Tete, i am sure to return to VIP Executive there.

Tete Accommodation
This is one of the better hotels in Tete. We spent a night there and enjoyed the food and the clean, comfortable rooms. The service could however improve and teaching your staff to smile and speak English will help a lot!
