"Overall, Kalima was an OK hotel, with some clear highlights and a few disappointments.
We stayed in a Private Pool Family Suite. The room was large, spacious, and very clean, although there were a few worn details here and there. The private pool was a positive surprise: deep, proper size, and not at all a small splash pool like we had expected.
Breakfast was excellent. The selection was very large and the quality was high. The bread in particular was really good and always felt freshly baked. The downside was the breakfast area itself, which was almost always fully packed between 8:30 and 9:30, and the atmosphere was quite noisy and hectic.
Unfortunately, the food outside breakfast was not great and felt like it lacked care and attention. We tried the well known sushi restaurant one evening, and it was OK, but nothing memorable except the bill, which ended up being the most expensive meal of our entire trip. The cocktails at the pool bar were also very disappointing, among the worst we have had.
The location is a bit unusual as well. To reach the small beach area you need to walk across a bridge. We would recommend walking or taking a tuk tuk further down the road to the beach outside the hotel, where there are more restaurants and free sunbeds, and both food and drinks are better."
