âMy husband and I are Swedes in our mid twenties, and we went to Portsmouth for a weekend getaway. Next time we go to Portsmouth, we will definitely stay at The Clarence again. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was very nice, and being Swedes we really care about the breakfast quality. Try the salmon egg muffin, you won't be disappointed!â
âSteve was really friendly and helped us find a nice place for dinner and breakfast.
Kindly sorted a parking space on the property as I think it was a quiet night. But thereâs also a huge car park on the other side of the building.
More to do at the property than we realised. The communal area is brilliant. Donât waste your money in the arcades as thereâs loads to do at the hotel: pool, air hockey, table tennis, old school games table (pac man etc), sound system to choose your own music.

âSupertrevligt litet hotell. Personalen var fantastisk trevliga och hjĂ€lpsamma. Rummet var trevligt badrummet var litet men fungerade bra. Frukosten gjordes pĂ„ bestĂ€llning enligt eget önskemĂ„l. Bra parkering pĂ„ hotellets gĂ„rd.â
âRoom was not your bog standard decor but was unique, bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large with an excrllet shower.
The staff were polite and would acknowledge you even if you were just passing.
Kim who was on reception when we arrived was a standard bearer for the hotel group, she was very welcoming and went above and beyond when we required some direction assistance.â
âWe had a deluxe room which was clean and spacious. Facilities in the room were very good and included a good size wardrobe, full length mirror, toiletries and kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits. Quiet location. There is a bus stop right outside the premises and is within walking distance of a retail outlet. Helpful staff.â
âreally really good! i was so impressed with this place, loved it and would definitely return again. the only negative i have is being on the top floor and some of the glassware (mirror, table) could have been cleaner, however i know they were keen to get the studio ready for me potentially arriving early (which was so great of them to have accommodated this). when i arrived the entry system was modern and easy to use, clear instructions by text message and i had a courtesy call, to also leave me...
âEtt hotell med medelmĂ„ttig standard. Smidig, digital in och ut-checkning. Lugnt omrĂ„de. Bra gemensamma köksytor men dĂ„ligt tryck i duschen drar ner betyget. Mindre livsmedelsbutik och restauranger ca 150m frĂ„n hotellet. Vill man Ă€ta en riktigt god middag sĂ„ rekommenderar jag Algarve grill och vill man inte laga sin egen frukost sĂ„ kan jag varmt rekommendera en âthe full delaneyâ pĂ„ Delaneys som ligger ca 400m i nordvĂ€stlig riktning. â

âThis is the best valued hotel I've stayed so far - literally amazing! The reception and staff at the breakfast bar were so nice. Amazing breakfast as well with great selection. The room is clean and spacious. Would definitely come and stay again next time.â
âThe bed in my first room was dreadful, I found several hairs in the sheets and comfortable as sleeping on the floor. In addition, the hot water did not work in the shower - I felt kind of ripped off - better standard should be expected even though it is an English hotel. After complaining a couple of times they moved me to the family suite which had an descent bed and hot water, which saved my week. The receptionists were always friendly despite my unhappy mood after my first night.â

âWe stayed here for the Victorious festival and the location was perfect.
We arrived at 10:30am and there were stil quite a few car parking spaces left.
Staff were very welcoming and hotel was quite.
Great buffet breakfast. â
âFriendly front of house, which dealt with our check in quickly and professionally..
The room was adequate, clean and bright..
Breakfast here is to die for..It carers for all tastes.. The lovely chef was chatty and interesting to talk to..
The only thing that I would say is that some of the fruits for breakfast had run out and they still hadn't been replaced by our third day .
Overall I would recommend a stay here .â
