Two teachers and five students for short stay
The hotel was quick to answer all our pre-visit questions and didn’t hesitate to call us as to avoid misunderstandings. We had an extremely short stay (6 PM to 3 AM). The hotel car picked us up at the airport even though we came there by bus (and didn’t have a flight number), that was nice. A bigger shuttle bus would have been better though. We had a packed breakfast (a little simple and we forgot to tell them about one being vegetarian (they forgot to ask) ready at 3 AM and again was given two rides to the airport. Website says that there is a free shuttle to shopping centre as well, but that turned out to be IKEA and not a shopping centre in Thessaloniki, so we decided not to go into town, but had dinner at the hotel restaurant instead. Really good service with the waiter giving us honest recommendations about the food (which was good). The pool was sadly closed for the season even if we Swedes gladly would have used it (the weather was like a Swedish summer). (Now you understand the irony with us going to IKEA😂) Clean and sustainable with refill bathroom products. BBC News on the telly was also a plus (I haven’t yet mastered Greek😅).

Hotel close to Thessaloniki airport
Nice hotel with friendly staff. The location is a bit off but if you have a car everything is nearby.

Prisvärt hotell nära flygplatsen.
Nära flygplatsen med gratis transfer som fungerade friktionsfritt. Bra med poolområde. Poolen öppen för alla som vill besöka den, det vill säga även för de som inte är hotellgäster. Så den är välbesökt men det fanns solbäddar till alla. Rummet var i okej skick. Badrummet på rummet (105) skulle behöva renoveras. En hel del sprickor i kakelplattorna. Lite begynnande mögel i fogarna men inget som var besvärande. Proppen i blandaren som växlade mellan bad och dusch var lös. Dörren till badrummet var svår att stänga då ett element satt i vägen. Men för priset ett väldigt bra alternativ trots allt om man vill bo nära flygplatsen.

Good for late arrivals
I chose the hotel because they offered free shuttle from the airport at 3 AM. That was very nice. The rest is just a hotel.

Nära flygplatsen
Efter en fantastisk resa på toppenhotell blev vi lite besvikna när vi kom till Avalon. Minus: # Vårt rum var inte klart när vi skulle checka in kl 15. Fick vänta till 15:30. # När vi skulle äta lunch under tiden rummet skulle bli klart fick vi efter ca 10 min väntan utan service gå till receptionen som då ringde efter en servitör. Samma servitör gav oss en meny att dela på och ställde sig sen inomhus och sopade golv så vi fick knacka på fönstret och vinka så han till slut kom ock tog vår beställning. # poolområdet är ett populärt tillhåll för boende i området, vilket i sig är trevligt men som gör att det är otroligt svårt att få en solstol. Det är dessutom väldigt högljutt. # Rummet vi tillslut fick låg i källaren och luktade av gammal ciggarettrök. # Frukosten var riktigt trist. Trots att det var en timme kvar på frukosten så var nästan allt slut, möttes av tomma fat. Juice som smakade vatten. # Hotellet ligger ganska öde, finns inget att promenera till. Plus: # God mat, bland det godaste vi ätit under vår resa. # hotellet i sig är fint. # Att det finns pool då hotellet ligger lite öde. # Närheten till flygplatsen. # "Gratis" transport till flygplatsen för hotellgäster. # Personalen är trevlig och vill väl.

Hotel med rum i källaren!
Hotels.com behöver bli bättre med sina beskrivningar av de rum som gästerna erbjuds att boka. Jag blev mycket besviken när jag hänvisades till ett källarrum och därför lämnade Avalon efter första natten. Information om att rummet i princip låg under jorden saknades helt på hotel.coms hemsida.

This pitiful “airport hotel” is much further from the airport than as advertised. The room we finally moved into we realized after awhile that it had been smoked in, and the fan in the bathroom seemed to bring even more cigarette fumes into the room. Also, in the stairwell from -1 floor was a strong smell of diesel fuel or some type of fuel, even into the breakfast room.Would not recommend this place.

First off all we want to inform you that Avalon is located 3,1 km away from the airport .Please check google maps .We feel sorry that it was closer .Moreover all the room are non smoking .And Finally the tank of the oil is in the back side of the parking .So we can not understand how you can smell oil .

Stayed here for one night in between connecting flights to be close to the airport. This was an excellent option for that. The free shuttle to/from the airport was prompt. The continental breakfast was amazing. The beds were extremely firm and the whole hotel was dated. Wouldn't stay longer than one night as there's nothing of interest in the immediate area surrounding. Unfortunately the pool had closed for the season when I stayed in early October.

Das Hotel ist optimal für einen kurzen Aufenthalt. Wir haben es gebucht, da es sehr nah am Flughafen liegt. Unser Zimmer wae sehr sauber. Die Betten sind groß und gemütlich. Das Frühstück ist auch in Ordnung und es ist fpr jeden was dabei. Von der Innenstadt Thessaloniki ca. 20 Minuten mot dem Auto.

事前にフライトと到着時間を聞くメールがあり、返信しておくと、待ち合わせ場所と連絡先の情報が送られてきます。連絡して10分くらいでお迎えの車が来ました。周りには何もお店がありませんが、21時まではレストラン、それ以降はバーで軽食が取れます。朝の空港までの送りもスムーズでした。施設は若干古いですが、広くて綺麗に整えられています。エアコンがきかなかったのが、唯一残念でした。無料の朝食は、種類も豊富で、とても満足でした。
