âThis was a pleasant inn with good service and a comfortable and well equipped room (slight issues with damp in the bathroom notwithstanding). The breakfast and food in the restaurant was generally excellent (but I would avoid the Eggs Benedict). Blaenavon is a pleasant quiet village with some local sights to see like the National Coal Museum and convenient distances to Cardiff and the Brecon Beacons by car.â
âI was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). â

âFrom the moment we arrived we were welcomed into the B&B and offered refreshment after a long journey. The rooms were immaculate and the breakfast choices were superb. Best cooked breakfast I have had in a long time. The host was very knowledgeable about the area and after we had attended a wedding ensured there was fresh milk for us to make a drink when we got back late in the evening. Thoroughly recommend. Beautiful walks just a short stroll from the door. â
âOur room at the Deri-Down was lovely and comfortable with a large walk-in wardrobe and a modern well equipped en-suite shower room. There was a multi-channel TV, a small fridge with milk, tea/cofffee provided. The landlady was very helpful and allowed my son and his wife to change in our room for the wedding we were all going to.
