I arrived 20 minutes early after a three‑hour drive and urgently needed to use the restroom. The host refused to check me in early and would not allow me to use the restroom, claiming the room was not ready. However, the cleaning staff was present, heard the conversation, and informed him directly that the room was already clean and ready. Despite this, he still refused to let me in.
There were no other restrooms available, and I made it clear that I needed to use one urgently. The cleaning lady could see I was upset and tried to advocate on my behalf, but he ignored everything she said. She eventually convinced him to at least look at the room to confirm it was ready. We walked to the room, arriving about 10 minutes before my scheduled check‑in time. He opened the door but continued to block me from entering.
I told him again that I urgently needed to use the restroom, but he still refused. I informed him that I was extremely unhappy with the situation and would be leaving a negative review. He shrugged and grunted, making it clear he did not care.
At that point, I squeezed past him and the cleaning lady, set my bags down, and went straight to the restroom. He yelled that I wasn’t allowed to enter, but I had no choice given the circumstances. His behavior was unprofessional, dismissive, and showed no regard for customer service. It was clear he did not understand that his job exists because of the customers he is supposed to serve.
