#1, the carpets were in dire need of a thorough cleaning.
#2, the upstairs bath has only a curtain, not a door, separating it from the loft area. It has a large jetted tub, but no shower
#3, the house is under lit, IMHO. Partly because we couldn’t get the ceiling fan light in the great room on (the the other ceiling fan light in the loft was very dim). Also, the multiheaded floor lamp in the main area had only 2 working bulbs out of 6.
#4, the place could use an instruction manual with information on heat, the fireplace, maybe operation of the AV equipment (we weren’t interested in even turning it on, though)
#5, the road is mostly a dirt track. The eastern approach, ~3/4 mile, entirely so. The western approach is a better gravel road until the last 1/2 mile or so, where it deteriorates to dirt track status. My party had no trouble in our SUVs, but you ought to be aware if you are coming in a sports car.
On the plus side,
* the kitchen was very well equipped
* the dining table and chairs were nice enough and that area was well lit
* the plumbing seemed to be in good order and the water was good.
* the king bed was comfortable (and I heard no complaints about the others)
* Wi-Fi worked well. Slower than at my home — I wouldn’t want to work over it — but good enough for vacation uses. (people were annoyed at the high quality password, though)
In future, my group might look for something a little more polished, but we wouldn’t rule out a return to Drooly Bear,
