Excellent Hotel with lovely views to the bay & near to some great walks . Very dog friendly & room was excellent as was the breakfast which was included in the price . All the staff were wonderful, helpful & very friendly . Will go there again without hesitation .

perfect stay on an idyllic island
The perfect place to stay on Guernsey! We booked a day and a half look-around on Guernsey and chose The Imperial for its location across the island from St Peter Port, to explore half one day and half the next. When we arrived, we were so glad to have lucked out with the somewhat secluded waterfront location with gorgeous view right from our room, lovely and accommodating staff and delicious meals for dinner and breakfast. The Imperial is perfect for settling in and feeling at home with generous meals and a cozy bar and public space. It feels like a home on the water but with amazingly friendly neighbors ready to help with whatever you need. We've thought of returning and staying again for the ultimate quiet getaway which is also minutes from any place you could want to visit on beautiful Guernsey.

Wonderful!,
My stay at the Imperial was wonderful. The food was superb and the staff couldn’t have more friendly and helpful. I was made to feel very special. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. In time the room needs up - dating as does the shower but I have no real complaints there. And there was a tray that not only had tea and coffee but biscuits and a chocolate drink - a lovely touch for me anyway!

Nice hotel if you’re staying in a sea view room!
Booked 3 double rooms, unfortunately at time of booking all sea view rooms were already booked. Easy check in, all 3 rooms were on top floor - 1,3 and 5. Room 3 was actually a sea view room, spacious, lovely big window overlooking the bay and decent sized bathroom. Rooms 1 and 5 were very small with the the tiniest of showers so beware anyone who is slightly larger than average! Also tiny bath towels. Room 1 overlooked the utilities area and never got a breeze so was extremely hot, also noisy at night until around midnight with locals in the public bar below. Room 5 was a bit better, got some breeze, Sea view room got a lovely breeze. Rooms not very well laid out for anyone wishing to blow dry their hair - short leads on hairdryers so couldn’t see in the mirror! Good tea and coffee making supplies in rooms, with daily refresh of biscuits, drinks and small bottled water. Bus stop right outside the hotel so convenient for getting around the island if you didn’t have a car. Car park was small and a space isn’t guaranteed, however there is a public car park around the corner so wasn’t really a problem. Although we booked room only breakfast was in fact included which was a bonus. Small boxed cereals, yogurts and a minimal fruit bowl, juices hot drinks and a choice of cooked breakfasts and yogurt/fruit bowl. Restaurant bright and spacious, stunning sea views. Nice lounge bar, lovely outside eating/drinking patio area.

What a fabulous place this is! The location and view over the bay are just stunning, and its a very comfortable, stylish place to stay, with excellent breakfast choices (even for veggies) and very nice staff. The only downside was the carpark which doesn't have enough space for the number of cars - but other easy options are available

When we arrived the email we received stated 1400hrs book in, we were told at reception it was wrong and it was 1500hrs book in having travelled for 7hrs by car and ferry this is not what you want to hear. The room we were given was at the very top of the hotel with two large flights of stairs to counter and no lift. The room was very small as was the shower, there were cobwebs in the corner of the ceilings and the extremely load music coming from the kitchen which after 8 hours of listening to I asked for it to be turned down or off would be better. The hotel had a public bar inside used by everyone in the area and for three nights we had two birthday parties and a hen do being held in the bar so no sleep till after midnight. We attended breakfast and was placed on a table next to the cereals and fruit where everyone had to pass us to get to them whilst we were eating, the next day we sat at a different table only to share with large cobwebs and spiders which I did point out to staff quietly, all staff members are young teenagers who have had no training in my eyes in dealing with table service or etiquette, we asked for side plates for our toast and received dinner plates. This hotel in my eyes relies on local people attending the public bar and not those staying there, there is a joining bar to the public bar for residents to use however the happy hour only applies in the public bar yet it’s the same bar. Reception is not covered throughout the day at all, not good.

Only a short bus ride away from the airport. We travelled by bus our entire visit, purchasing the Puffin Pass from the information counter at the airport. The bus stop is conveniently located just outside the hotel. Every morning we had a nice full english cooked breakfast which was included with the room. Staff are really friendly and helpful, would like to mention Eve, who worked the reception and also served breakfast in the mornings. She was very helpful helping us navigate the bus schedule, getting items that had been forgotten to replace in the room daily such as water & cookies, and call us a cab to airport due to issues with bus due to our departure being on a holiday may 1st. Even though she was busy getting ready to serve breakfasts Eve still managed to get us a cab. Big thankyou Eve for making our stay so pleasant. Beautiful hotel, and sea view directly accross from the ocean.

Disappointed
Room clean,balcony not clean. Dirty ashtray and filthy seats. Breakfast very limited and seemed to shrink each day. Restaurant menu limited and confused. States classic British but a weird mix of British /Asian dishes. Ignored at check-in and had to stop a member of staff to get checked in. Not great for disabled guests.

This hotel has had a makeover since I last stayed and is much nicer. There are two sitting areas downstairs, a new restaurant with superb food and views, and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. The location is amazing - early morning swims are easy and sunsets are beautiful, and it is on major bus routes. I would definitely recommend it and return myself - the only drawback is that there is no lift - it just isn't possible to incorporate in an old building.

Excellent coastal hotel with sea views
Excellent little hotel right on edge of coast with stunning view, worth the extra money. Tidy modern bedrooms, lovely clean modern bathroom (quite small "room 4" though if two people were using but really not that big an issue). Eat in restaurant and omg it was delicious, enough great choice of food on menu cooked beautifully and with a view out to see it was perfect. Def recommend n would stay again yes!!!

Delightful check-in and nice room with a view. Minuses included being woken up by the smell of the sewage truck doing its thing at 7am (don’t sleep with open windows), being charged extra for a 12 noon check-out!! and being told 15 min after being given the menu they don’t have lobster, mussels etc (next time please tell is BEFORE we decide what we want.

Loved the view from dining area. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner. Welcoming feel to building. Very friendly. We had a room at the back which had a partial view over what was described as a courtyard but can really only be called a car park. Some noise at night from kitchen and bar but did not disturb us. The overall experience of the place made up for this we felt though and we still slept well.

The so called standard room we were given - room 6a - was 8 foot by 8 foot square with a double bed!!!! Lovely view out of the window of their maintenance yard complete with workmen. Asked if we could move to a bigger room with a bath as my wife has recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure and struggles with showers because of dizziness and was told only one of the 17 rooms had a bath. Have since seen on the website and all 17 rooms have lovely sunken baths - well fancy that, the harpies on reception had lied. On our last night at this wonderful establishment we tried to get a bar snack and drink in the lounge bar and were told we would only be served in the seated busy restaurant like every one of the other cattle that passes through the hotel. How dare we want to lounge in the lounge bar!!!In Victorian times unscrupulous landlords used to charge homeless people to rest their weary bodies on a length of rope strung from wall to wall in a tiny room - they would drape their arms over the rope and try to sleep standing up - it was called The Penny Hangover. Maybe the management at this hotel could try this in a disused cupboard and charge say £40 per night in the general spirit of how they treat guests. We loved Guernsey and enjoyed our stay apart from our experience with The Imperial Hotel.

Very cheerful staff - thank you Benjamin - and lovely location overlooking the bay. Only criticism concerns the tv located about 5 feet above one of only 2 power points available for use. First day almost knocked the unsecured tv off its stand when using the plug. Ouch!

Weekend away.
We visited Guensey for the football and also to visit places of historical interest and the stay at the Imperial was excellent,we also had a extra night due to the ferry being cancelled. Very good food both for breakfast and in the evening served by great staff. We would stay here again if on the island.

Great hotel .great locaction ,Resturant staff I would give a 8 out of 10 points .... one member of resturant could not smile .the 2nd staff was doing his job good BUT we got the feeling that we should eat and go ,the 3rd was a nice young lady who was working on Sunday lunch was doing a good job .The 4th member of this TEAM was giving his best service to EVERY one and giving us the feeling that we are NOT just paying guest but VIPs this member of staff was giving 100% and more ,sorry to say BUT the rest of the resturant staff NEED to folllow this guys lead and give a little more ....well done Jamie Sir Billy would be happy to see you using your experence that was given to you to use and make the customers/Hotel Guest feel special ,,,,..As for the Bar staff some one should explain how to serve Guinness/.. and the reason Guinness beer need to settle for a short time before serving

Close to the sea with great views
Excellent location overlooking the beach and sea with great views. We ate in the restaurant and I have to say that the food was excellent. In summary, a great place to stay.

du bon et du mauvais
l'hôtel est idéalement situé avec une très belle vue, les prestations de restauration sont bonnes ; en revanche nous avons payé 590 € pour 5 nuits dans une chambre dite "deluxe" en fait celle-ci était très petite, avec un lit de 130 cm, une salle de bain microscopique avec une cabine de douche tellement petite qu'il faut s'accroupir et non se pencher pour récupérer sa savonnette et un lave main d'angle en guise de lavabo ; de plus, tellement de crasse et de cheveux dans la bonde de douche qu'il a fallut la laisser en évidence pour que la femme de ménage la nettoie, ce qui d'ailleurs n'a pas été fait correctement ; également des cheveux appartenant à de précédents occupants sur la moquette et dans la salle de bain. Enfin, et non des moindres, la première nuit a été épouvantable du fait d'un bruit assourdissant à notre étage du au dysfonctionnement d'une pompe, impossible de dormir et ce malgré des bouchons d'oreilles, nous avons été plusieurs à signaler le problème à la réception qui n'a rien pu faire si ce n'est nous assurer que les techniciens feraient le nécessaire dès le lendemain matin ; le bruit a cessé à 5h du matin. nous avons bien conscience que ce genre de problème peut arriver et qu'une autre chambre n'est pas forcément disponible, toutefois nous sommes extrêmement déçus qu'aucun geste commercial ne nous ait été proposé.

Renovated hotel, mid priced and very friendly. Food is better than the menu looks and is good value. Room was a bit noisy as located over kitchen. Dustbin lorry came at 4:00. Amazing location and views. Worth upgrading to sea view.

Fantastic Stay
My stay at the Imperial was fantastic. The rooms are fresh and look great after a recent revamp. The food in the main restaurant was fantastic at dinner and breakfast. The location of the hotel is on the opposite side to St Peter Port but don’t let that put you off. Right on the beachfront the restaurant and rooms have lovely views looking out to sea. Overall a great stay and I will be back when I return for business.

Lovely location, bus service right outside of Hotel, Breakfast was excellent, staff friendly, we had a room at the rear of the hotel, so no view, quite noisy especially when bins being emptied very very early. Excellent value

Lovely hotel - superb location
The hotel is overlooking a lovely bay where the view changes all the time depending on the light and the tides. Really enjoyed watching horse riders on the beach while I ate my breakfast, or hardy locals swimming when the sea was grey! Brilliant location for cliff top walks, treks across the causeway to Lihou Island. The bus stop directly outside was so convenient and the cost of travel was really cheap. We will be back!

I'd recommend the hotel
It is a quite a good hotel, placed in a quiet location of the island in front of the beach, with lovely views of the sea and the cup and saucer. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Only downside is that is quite far away from the centre of the island and it is a bit old, although well refurbished. The restaurant is amazing and they prepare the most delicious royal eggs!
