Our “Home in the Trees," is a mid-century home reimagined for the perfect family Getaway. An open floor plan w floor-to-ceiling windows creating a seamless connection between the indoors and out. So quiet you won’t have a problem relaxing into your vacation. Unfortunately this house does not host children under 5 years of age.

Situated near East Bay, on the renowned Old Mission Peninsula, our home offers shared access to a private sandy beach. We are close to everything. The Pelazzari Natural area, Road biking, alpine and nordic skiing, hiking, mountain biking....everything outdoors is at your disposal within 15 to 45 minutes. Not to mention the wineries, art galleries and beautiful drives.

Our home also has a seasonal Art Studio / office space with large windows and art supplies.

With the capacity to comfortably sleep nine guests, the home is perfect for families with children over 5, groups, or friends seeking a memorable vacation experience. Each room is a retreat in itself, offering comfortable mattresses with down pillows and comforters.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare large meals. The home is conveniently located near Traverse City, you'll have easy access to a vibrant downtown.

Whether you're planning a family reunion, a group outing, or simply a solo escape from the hum of everyday life, our "Home in the Trees" is the perfect place to ground yourself.

Lovely home in TC area!

We had such a wonderful stay at this home. The check-in process was super easy and the host responded very quickly whenever I had a question. The layout of the home is really great to accommodate a few different groups. We had myself with small children, as well as my sister and her child plus my older parents, and there is enough space for all of us.Everything was so well taken care of and so clean and the kitchen had everything that we needed to make a lot of home cooked meals. We love the screened-in outdoor porch and we spent a day at the private beach area for the home which was perfect. Had such a great stay, would highly recommend and we’d love to rent this spot again!

Beyond Our Expectations

We didn't want to leave - I would love to return! This home is not only beautifully decorated, but it is so relaxing, quiet and feels like home. Our family enjoyed every part of the "tree house". The hot tub and screened in porch were my favorite features, but the two living areas (one up and one down) with an open kitchen upstairs were so great! The location is very convenient to everything you need in TC. The beach access was also a wonderful addition, even if you had to walk a bit, it wasn't a big deal. Really truly one of the nicest rentals we have ever stayed in!

Beautiful but not lakefront

We are a group of women aged over 60, who enjoy a friends get-together. This house had two beautiful dining areas, one on a screened in porch, and one inside by a massive window looking into the woods. The only issue was that the property was listed as lakefront, and although there is a private beach with chairs, it is a 0.25 mile walk down a hill to the beach. This might be difficult for older folks or small children. It is possible to drive down the hill and park by the garbage cans though. I think the listing should be changed from "lakefront" to "lake access" because you dont walk out the door and the lake is right there. However, we did have a lovely time sitting around the table and admiring the pretty woods and chatting. The kitchen is well equipped with supplies; one of the best kitchens I have experienced in a rental!

Beautiful Home in the Trees

Our family enjoyed spending a week in this gorgeous home. Perfectly located close to the beach and town. The house itself is spacious and sets up well for families or a group of friends. It’s extremely well furnished and comfortable and we had every single thing we needed. A definite 10/10.

Beautiful

This property has everything you need to enjoy Traverse City and it's beautiful surroundings. This hideaway in the trees gives you privacy while immersed in nature, but also within a 10 minute drive to downtown TC or the nearby wineries. The home itself is well supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay and beautifully decorated. The check-in was super easy, and even though we didn't have a lot of communication with the host, they were quick to respond. Thanks for a great week in your home!

Family Graduation Celebration

My husband and I stayed at this property for 6 nights with our two adult daughters and their partners. From the moment we walked in the front door with the beautiful floor to ceiling windows looking out to the trees and the bay beyond, we were hooked. Immaculate, fully updated, well appointed. Plenty of options for alone time and group time. A short drive to stores and activities. S’mores on the beach at sunset was a highlight! Owners were very responsive to questions. It was perfect for us!

Beautiful property close to the beach

Our young family stayed at this home for a week with grandparents. The home is absolutely beautiful and well appointed with the basics of what you would need for a week. There was a welcome package waiting for us upon arrival which was an extra special touch. The house is off the main track of TC but very easily accessible to downtown within 10-15 minutes. We found that to be a nice blend of seclusion/privacy with access to the city. Given the mix of young and older ages for our guests, the owner worked with us well ahead of time to review our individual needs and what would be available within the home. A few accessibility comments: -The home is a 5-minute walk away from the beach via a relatively steep mixed cement/gravel driveway. We made the trip many times with our crew but the kids would not have been able to make the walk on their own or without assistance from the wagon/stroller. -The owner let me know prior to booking that there the wrought iron stairway is very steep and is in the middle of the main floor. We worked around this by bringing a gate to help block off the stairs.

Great summer getaway

We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! The location is perfect, you have privacy but also are so close to anywhere you want to go whether it’s the wineries and other peninsula spots or downtown. The house was great and nicely decorated and more than enough room for 3 couples and a 10 month old baby. Communication was great, they left numbers to contact if we needed anything and got back right away. Great hot tub and fire pit area. And the private beach and kayaks were awesome. Wish we could have stayed longer and will be the first property we look in to stay at next time we come up!

We had a lovely visit. The decor of the home is unique and right up our alley and a great location. There was plenty of room for all nine of us. All of the children loved the art room, and the four teenaged girls adored the hot tub.The only thing I would have liked is more and various sizes of cookware and bakeware.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is great, in the middle of everything. We biked to wineries and the farmers market, had a campfire on the beach, and had dinner on the screened in porch every night. We were there with 3 adult children and their partners and were very comfortable. The host was very responsive and answered all our questions.

Beautiful Retreat any time of year

The location outside and inside is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked, and the owners went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed. When issues developed with the house, the owners made sure to make things right and went above and beyond to save what would ultimately be my mother's last Thanksgiving dinner. I'm so thankful that we chose this house.
