"Lovely hotel perched up high on a hill overlooking Monterosso- in fact, one can see all 5 towns of Cinque Terre from the hotel grounds. Clean, comfortable, good-sized room; if available, book a room with a balcony for a fantastic view. Shuttle van to & from hotel into Monterosso was very much appreciated as walking up or down the hill would be difficult. Breakfast was excellent with many choices to suit all tastes (8-10 am). "Check-in was a breeze, the owners were pleasant, and the room was clean, and the property was clean as well. The mattresses were slightly harder than what we were used to but we still had a good night's rest. There was no audible noises from other guests. The mini-fridge didn't appear to be turned on but we didn't need it anyway so that was not a problem. The location is just about a 5-minute walk from the beach. "I would highly recommend staying at the Hotel il Nido. The views of the ocean were stunning from the restaurant at the hotel and from sunning deck, which were just down some steps as you head down toward the beach. The beach is small and only accessible when it is low tide, but the views are stunning. The rooms were nice and clean and the views from our hotel room were nice.
