Idéal pour une sejour en famille, le château à beaucoup de caractère. Toutes les activités annoncées ne sont pas utilisables ( billard, baby foot). En revanche le piano à fait des heureux.

Location conforme à la description.Un incident grave est arrivé:Le jour de notre arrivée, le propriétaire nous informe avoir deux chiens, le sien et celui de son beau frère montrant un tempérament agressif.Le propriétaire nous précise qu'il les gardera en laisse le temps de notre séjour.Le 25 décembre à 16 h, le propriétaire se promène devant la porte du château avec les deux chiens en liberté.Etant moi même dehors, je me suit fais mordre au mollet par le chien agressif, mon pantalon a été troué et les marques de la mâchoire du chien très visibles, photos à l'appui.Le propriétaire a rremis ses chiens en laisse et est reparti jugeant cet incident sans importance.Depuis, malgré notre insistance, nous n'avons toujours pas le carnet de santé du chien, aucune démarche de sa part auprès de son assurance habitation, aucune déclaration de l'accident en Mairie, ni de visite chez le vétérinaire pour une prise de sang et l'évaluation comportementale du chien..Pour ma part j'ai fait le nécessaire auprès de mon médecin qui a constaté la morsure et m'a mis sous traitement.Cette attitude est grave et montre l'irresponsabilité du propriétaire.Que faire à présent?Mme Mijno

La vie de château à taille humaine !

Cet endroit est bourré de charme dans un village (que nous connaissions déjà) absolument charmant et singulier avec ses maisons troglodytes. Le château étant à l'entrée du bourg, il est très facile de profiter des balades à pied dans le village ou au bord du Loir. Attention toutefois, il n'y a pas de commerces de proximité sur place (commerces de bouche ou superette) mais on trouve tout à Montoire (très proche avec une voiture). Le château, construit sur une terrasse du coteau offre une vue plein sud qui surplombe la nature offrant un cadre champêtre simple et raffiné. La demeure majestueuse est très facile à vivre en groupe et la distribution est parfaite. La cuisine n'est pas rutilante mais ses équipements et les ustensiles sont complets et pratiques (réfrigérateur américain, robots de cuisine divers et variés... Etc). La piscine chauffée couverte ainsi que le sauna et le bain à remous dans les communs sont des espaces de pur bien-être logés dans des espaces assez rustiques et authentiques mais qui font tout le charme des lieux. Un esprit maison de famille l'emporte sur l'esprit guindé que pourrait inspirer un château et nous fait sentir comme à la maison (mais avec un decorum extraordinaire et des espaces magnifiques). Gil, qui nous a accueilli, a toujours été présent et réactif et toujours sympathique dans nos échanges. C'est très appréciable de se savoir accompagné en cas de caprice de cette illustre bâtisse ! Un endroit idéal pour se retrouver entre amis ou en famille.

Retour sur notre séjour date du 17 au 20 mai 2024

Le château est très beau à l’extérieur et a beaucoup de charme à l’intérieur. Mais de nombreux travaux sont à réaliser dans les salles de bain et cuisines. Les prestations décrites sont bien présentes mais non utilisables par manque d’entretien et surtout de propreté. Nous sommes déçus de notre séjour car nous n’avons pas pu utiliser tous les équipements proposés.

Séjour au calme dans un environnement de toute beauté

De grands espaces de jour et de nuit à l'intérieur. Tout le confort disponible même si un peu "dans son jus". Espaces conviviaux devant le château. Sentiers de randonnées variés et magnifiques. Hôte très attentif au bon déroulement. Sensations de bien-être et sérénité.

A beautiful chateau but not the best experience

The chateau is an amazing venue and a piece of French history. Every bedroom was well presented and the place well heated with hot water. Check in - we arrived at 15.00 as arranged and called the caretaker but no response. We opened the chateau gates manually, as the mechanism was broken, to be greeted by a large wymerana dog barking and jumping up and the caretaker running and shouting at us. Subsequently, the dog was also walked around every single room on check in, despite us saying that we do not like dogs. It continued to be troublesome during our stay - barking at anyone, running into the house and kitchen, using the lawn as a toilet, its owner seemingly unable to control it, swearing loudly and punching it. Gil was angry that we didn’t like the dog and told us we could leave. The kitchen ovens did not work. We were told not to use the range as the thermostat was broken but the more modern oven was dangerous and not fixed into its housing, falling forwards when the door was opened and subsequently tripping the electricity, so not usable. Cooking for 13 was difficult without oven space. Overall the house was clean, except for various items in the kitchen and the sink was difficult to clean and use hygienically. The tv room, with sofa seating, is not in the chateau but in the pool building next door. Not all gym equipment worked but the pool was good. Promises that the main gates would be mended and the oven repaired during our stay were not fulfilled.

Une vie de châtelains

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour au château de la Voûte. Le village de Trôo et ses environs sont magnifiques et ce fut un plaisir de visiter la région. Comme dit dans un autre commentaire, le château a énormément de charme et il y fait bon y vivre même s’il faut en accepter quelques contreparties : pas mal de petit éléments abimés et autres dysfonctionnements. Cela dit l’expérience de vie de châtelains est très bonne et la prestation correspond au prix demandé !
Le propriétaire a été réactif et disponible lorsqu’on avait besoin de lui et il nous a également fait de très bonnes suggestions sur les choses à faire dans le coin. Allez-y sans hésiter !

Large family gathering

We had our usual annual family gathering with 3 generations ranging from 1 year old to 75. We used the entire place for a full week. We are very familiar with the quirks of older homes and this was in line with what we expected, particularly for this price point. The owner/caretaker Giles lives on site in a separate building. He was very accommodating albeit a little too present to our taste. The property offers a lot more than in the description: ping pong table, access to the river and it is in the middle of town with easy access to everything. There is no bakery in the village, but there is a bread dispensing machine with surprisingly decent baguettes (even for a French family like ours). Our teenagers had a blast, for little ones it was a little tricky from a safety standpoint and not very relaxing even with a full tile babysitter round the clock, but overall without incident. If you have little ones, know that you’ll be setting a lot of rules and monitor them acutely (there is notably a fountain at ground level (no walls) in front of entrance and the walls of the terrasses are too low to prevent fall during play). Despite setting up ground rules with our kids we had to monitor the little ones constantly (allways needed an adult with them outside). Overall this worked well for our large family and we had a very pleasant stay.

Très bon séjour au Château

Très joli Château, très bien situé. Le propriétaire est disponible et attentionné tout en sachant rester discret (maison à part à l'entrée du domaine). Le Château lui même est vaste avec de nombreuses salles annexes, a énormément de charme mais il faut en accepter les contreparties (beaucoup de petit éléments abimés en cours de maintenance, plancher à refaire - c'est néanmoins prévu pour fin 2023). La literie était propre et confortable et l'insonorisation des pièces très très bonne. Le sona est un plus qui a été très apprécié, dommage que le jacuzzi ait eu un soucis de cumulus d'eau chaude. Nombreuses balades possibles en partant à pied du château, dans Troo ou le long de l'ancien talus de chemin de fer. Bref, prestation correspondant du prix demandé et pour une expérience unique de vie au château, je recommande !

Two week stay with large group of family and friends

We had up to 20 people staying at the same time. The property worked well for housing and preparing meals for that many people, The rooms were air conditioned and had private bathrooms. This is an old property and has not been completely renovated to modern standards but we found it charming and completely adequate for our needs. Gil, the onsite manager, was very responsive to any concerns that we had and was most pleasant to work with. The children loved the pool and other games available. Especially pleasant was the yard where we sat out in the evening and enjoyed wine and conversation. We became absolutely charmed by this property which provided our family with a lifelong memory and we would happily return again.

Excellent séjour.

Nous avons passé deux excellents jours au Château de la Voûte. Tout est prévu pour passer un bon séjour de la cuisine à la piscine, en passant par les très belles chambres, le salon et salle à manger. Sans oublier l'accueil très agréable de Gil, le propriétaire du Château. Merci. Je recommande ce lieu.

An enjoyable stgay

We really enjoyed our stay at Chateau de la Voute for the week – plus points were that all bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms; spacious reception rooms, the grand piano; and the indoor swimming pool was great fun. However :- The main kitchen was not clean. The thermostat on the oven in the main kitchen did not work. . The small kitchen had no sink! Most importantly, the stone sink in the main kitchen was heavily cracked and ingrained with dirt, and therefore not hygienic – it needs to be replaced as a matter of urgency.

Amazing family holiday in the Loire Valley

We are a multi generational family. The Château catered for all our needs. Each room had it’s own bathroom which was amazing. We all enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna. There was an option for a house keeper which we declined as the house was clean and we were able to maintain its cleanliness. However, we felt that the Château is in need of some repair. We were unable to use the range cooke, although there was an alternative cooker in the back kitchen (no sink in this room) so, moving hot liquids from the back kitchen did prove problematic. Some of the furnishing needs replacing as we found it unusable (sofa’s). Gil was on site each morning checking that our stay was okay, which was appreciate. Overall our stay was positive, our comments are observations and hope that with a little investment the Château will be stunning.

Excellent séjour, site remarquable

Un très beau site, dans un village au calme. Le château est grand, bien aménagé, et a beaucoup de charme. L'accueil est à la hauteur, et tout a été préparé pour nous faciliter et nous accompagner pendant notre séjour. En résumé, un séjour parfait, malgré la canicule. Chaleur tempérée entre les murs épais du château, l'ombrage des nombreux arbres, le rafraichissement de la piscine et du spa, sans oublier les litres de glaçons fournis par le frigo américain :)
