Mysig hotell
Fint hotell med mysig innegård. Ligger centralt och nära till allt. Mycket trevlig personal och bra frukost utbud. Vi trivdes jättebra.

Our room was very nice I warm colors and "antic" wall paintings. Nice staff and proper cleaning. Breakfast was ok regarding we are in Italy. AC was broken and they had replaced it with a useless type of AC that stod on the floor and was very noisy with very poor cooling effect. Traffic is disturbing in the rooms nearest the street. They could try try to harmonize light source in each armature regarding color temperature, strength and so. We had some nice days in a nice hotel and a absolute marvelous cosy old town.

Ett riktigt superläge! Ingenstans att hänga våta badhanddukar, blev stolarna utanför. Tråkig personal, svarade på frågor och gjorde sitt jobb. Men inte mer. Rummen är olika stora, vårt var OK, badrummet helt OK. Bra frukost! I det stora hela var hotellet bra, men saknade det lilla extra för att bli riktigt bra.

Kunde vara ett jättemysigt hotell om man bara hade finputsat på detaljerna. Irriterande att ingen i personalen kan ordentlig engelska.

Konstig lukt
Bra läge, nära till allt, mysigt hotell och trevlig personal men det var slitet och extremt fuktigt vilket resulterade i mögellukt.

You won't find more friendly staff members at any hotel. From the front lobby to the cleaning staff, everyone made us feel like we were family, photos were taken upon our departure. The hotel is conveniently located on the main road into the city from the train station located less than 10 minutes away. The rooms are interesting, ours included hand painted frescoes on the walls. Breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice served by staff who truly feel proud of their hotel. Tropea is such a beautiful if busy town with lovely beaches and clear blue waters. Nearby Pizzo is also worth a visit. Excellent stay in a very special place.

Very clean and nice apartment, big enough for 2 people, having a lift in somewhere like Rome is always great. The restaurant right at the entrance is amazing

The staff is very friendly. The location is amazing to walk to the most beautiful parts of tropea is only a few minutes away. We booked the suite. This is an underground room with no ventilation and air conditioning was broken. We couldn’t sleep all night from how hot and stuffy it was in the room even though the weather outside was not warm. There was no draw sheet on the mattress and we found a cockroach in our room. We could have left the sliding door open for some air however that would have felt unsafe. We would have been better off with a regular room since those have windows. There’s also no designated parking so we spent 30 euros paying for parking for one night. This property was ok and definitely not what I expected of a 4 star rated hotel. This must be an old rating.

e' una vera fregatura!
decisamente il prezzo non e' ragionevole per il servizio offerto (nessuno, neanche la colazione) e er la tipologia di alloggio! none' un hotel ma una stanza all'ultimo piano (senza ascensore!) di un palazzo antico/vecchio. il condizionatore e' rumorosissimo, il bagno microscopico e very cheap. la colazione c'e ma devi camminare per 15 minuti a piedi per andare a farla nella sede dell'hotel. sinceramente, a parte la cortesia del personale, e' veramente un pacco!

I spent extra for a Triple Room and the woman at reception tried to convince me that I did not. I was offered the only room they had left, a double, for myself and my family. The room itself was not in a state of good repair, and was dark like a dungeon with the lights off. The mattress was too big for its frame, causing it to bow concave up, making for a terrible night’s sleep. The bathroom was an absolute horror. The toilet seat was cracked and glued back together. The shower in the stall did not work, and use of the tub flooded the bathroom. The handheld shower wand was full of mildew. The light above the sink flickered on and off. It was rather obvious that no real effort was put into maintaining the room. The only redeeming quality was the buffet breakfast, but that was far from enough to overshadow the misery of the room. Considering the amount spent, it was a travesty. To anyone considering staying here, Caveat emptor.

The property looked charming, but there was no advertised bar, no room service, no hairdryer, no advertised gym facility, the rooms themselves were small musty and overall disappointing.

Ci dispiace che non sia riuscito ad usufruire della palestra ma è momentaneamente in restauro. Per quanto riguarda il parcheggio, è specificato che non è presente in struttura ma che c'è il parcheggio libero nelle vicinanze. Essendo gratuito e libero, non può essere prenotato. Loved Our Experience
Beautiful old building from the 1800’s which has been converted to a hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Best breakfast we have had in Italy.

I recommend this hotel in tropea
we were there with 3 kids, nice double room with 2 big double beds, in the city center. Very nice atmosphere, helpfull staff, good breakfast. hotel maybe needs some investments

Così non va.....pessimo rapporto qualità prezzo...
Mi sono fidato delle 4 stelle, senza leggere le recensioni di questo hotel ed il risultato è stato purtroppo insoddisfacente. A mio parere l'albergo non merita neanche le 3 stelle. Appena arrivati ci viene assegnata la camera n° 4 e dopo le nostre rimostranze, la puzza di muffa è insopportabile, ci viene assegnata la camera 23. Elenco le cose che non vanno, nella camera assegnataci: 1) Materasso con un "fosso" al centro che non permette di riposare. 2) Il coprisedile del water è lesionato con il rischio di provocare infortuni agli ospiti. 3) Scarico della doccia tappato. l'abbiamo stasato noi. 4) Grado di pulizia della camera scarso e puzza di muffa e fogna. 5) Manca un telefono per chiamare la reception. 6) Arredamento essenziale armadio piccolo. 7) Manca il phon, porta carta igienica, porta asciugamani ecc. ecc. 8) Lenzuola vecchie e consumate. 9) Segnale TV scarso, alcuni canali saltavano continuamente rendendo impossibile la visione. Devo segnalare che il direttore dell'hotel ed il personale sono stati sempre gentili e disponibili, ma mi rendo conto di quanto sia difficile gestire una struttura così fatiscente. La colazione ha un buon assortimento e la posizione dell'hotel è strategica, si è in pieno centro ed in 8 minuti a piedi si arriva in spiaggia.

Molto bella la camera , rifinito il bagno con cabina doccia ed idromassaggio. Personale gentilissimo, ci è addirittura venuto incontro quando avevamo difficoltà a trovare la strada.... Peccato solo l'eccessiva rumorosità della stanza al pian terreno con il via vai del sabato sera ci ha tenuto svegli fino a notte fonda....

Wie gesagt Tropea ist wunderschön
Tropea ist wunderschön. Leider war mein Zimmer verschimmelt bekam dann die letzten 2 Tage ein anderes Zimmer ( einfach kleiner) . Der Rezeptionist war sehr sehr freundlich und für jedes Problem oder Wunsch kam er sofort. Das Hotel liegt genau im Zentrum und Nähe an das Meer. .

Profile of Hotel Villa Antica on Expedia website was very misleading when it indicates 0.32 km (which suggest only approximately 300 meters from the beach). I reserved two rooms for my family of six based on such false information. In fact, the hotel is located on top of a hill / mountain in the main town of Tropea and at least 1 km distance from the beach. I re-booked (not with Expedia) the next day at another hotel located immediately in front of the beach which offered better accommodations at a lower price than Hotel Villa Antica.

Loved the Hotel Villa Antica!
From setting up my shuttle service from the airport to arriving at the hotel, everything about the Hotel Villa Antica was very well done. I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff. The location was incredible! Although it's not directly on the beach, it was right in the middle of all the action of the city centre (and a short walk to the beach). The room looked exactly as it did in the photographs, and although it looks old, it was super clean. Didn't come across a single bug in my room. The shower was also quite nice (considering it's a small town in the south of Italy and I'm used to North American standards). I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Tropea.

Nice hotel with lots of character
Hotel has lots of original features and we stayed in a lovely old room. It could do with a bit of updating but we liked the atmosphere and very large room. Breakfast was typical continental. Staff were friendly. Good value and great being in such a good location.

Stilvolle Villa
Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt. Da unser Gepäck nicht angekommen war, waren wir für die tatkräftige Unterstützung bei den Telefonaten mit der Airline sehr dankbar. In dem stilvoll renovierten Haus fühlten wir uns sehr wohl. Wir können die Villa nur empfehlen.

Wir verbrachten 9 Nächte dort. Kurz gesagt fanden wir den Aufenthalt schrecklich! 1. Massiven Schimmelbefall im Bad über der Dusche. 2. Zimmer, Schrank, Regalschubladen riechen modrig! Wir packten unsere Koffer während des ganzen Aufenthalts gar nicht aus, weil wir uns ekelten! Weiters ist der Raum absolut dunkel und vermittelt keineswegs Urlaubsfeeling. 3. Nur oberflächliche, völlig unzureichende Zimmerreinigung. Der Schrank blieb immer staubig. 4. Bei mir funktionierte das WLAN seit dem dritten Urlaubstag nicht mehr. 5. Das Frühstück ist eintönig und ab ca. 9.45 Uhr wird nichts mehr nachgefüllt! 6. Allgemein war das doch recht teure Zimmer (wir bezahlten ca. 130 €/Nacht) in einem ganz schlechten Zustand mit abgenutzten Wänden.

Surprisingly charming hotel in the historic centre
Charming hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were large and with a personal outside seating area. The pictures on the website do'nt do the hotel justice.
