Our stay started wonderfully but ended terribly. We arrived to our room which was spacious. We found it odd that the woman who brought us to our room spent a lot of time explaining that if we stained any of the face cloths with makeup or left any stains on the sheets that we would have to pay for new ones. But whatever, we didn’t think much of it. We are clean and respectful people and didn’t think there would be a problem. We enjoyed the food (although very overpriced) and yoga was great. Our servers at the restaurant were wonderful. However… at checkout, we were told not to leave the property until someone inspected our room to “make sure you didn’t leave anything behind,” which actually meant, “we are going to inspect the sheets and towels first.” She came back and told us we needed to pay for a new set of sheets ($164 USD) because there was a “stain” on them. Note that I checked the bed before we left the room, put the pillows back on, etc and the sheets were perfectly clean. We told her that’s not true, there was no stain. She then said that they took photos of our sheets (!) and uploaded them to their computer. Then pulled of a photo of a “stain,” which was maybe 1/2 inch in diameter and a yellow color. Keep in mind this is in front of other people, highly embarrassing and also disrespectful to our privacy. Basically, the are scammers. I believe that photo is one they show to many people checking out, to get more money. Beware. The rats will wake you at 5am as well.
