  • This historic park dates back to the early 1800s when then first settlers to the area arrived. It features the what is said is the worlds largest man made waterfall and a fountain dedicated to Princess Im-Mi-Ah-Key wife of Chickasaw Indian chief Tuscumbia for whom the town is named. Oka Kapassa is a special Native American gathering that is held here and is dedicated to celebrating the culture and traditions of American Indians who once thrived in Alabama. The gathering is a coming home of sorts for the tribes that were forcibly removed from their homes in the Southeast. There's also a stature that reflects the Indians forced March to the west called "Sacred Tears, The Exit to the West."

Disappointed (sadly)

This is a cute little house, but did not live up to the pictures. I truly HATE negativity and wish I could have sent this review directly to the host. The yard was full of leaves and masked the holes near the back porch. There is not short railing for the first two steps, and when my elderly mother attempted to go another way she fell due to tripping in a hole covered by leaves. The second bathroom is not large enough for a toddler. You sit down to use the bathroom and can rest your head comfortably on the sink. The couch closet to the kitchen smells like urine. When you sit on either couch/love seat, you sink down. And the house was very dusty. There really needs to be a lot of upgrades made. Again, apologies for the negativity. I am just sharing my experience. Others definitely may not agree.

Family Group Get Away.

We traveled from Louisiana for an off road vacation to Hawk Pride Off Road Park, and this place was the perfect location between the park, Walmart, Autozone, and restaurants. In a quiet little neighborhood with plenty of parking. This was wonderful place.

Gets the job done

Nice little place not to far from shopping. It's nice to have a place to bring the doggo. The second bathroom is pretty small, and saw what looked to be some discoloration or organic growth in the tub and ceiling so we ended up sharing the main bathroom shower. Overall it served it's purpose.

Cozy Cottage!

Very clean, cute cottage in the heart of Tuscumbia! It's a few minutes from Helen Keller's birthplace. We caught the Miracle Worker play, toured the house the following day, and enjoyed the charm of Tuscumbia! We'll go back next year to see the play again and stay here!

Fishing Tournament

We came down to our sons college fishing tournament. We were about 10 mins from take off. Didn’t have any problems.getting in. The house was smaller than it looked online but it was fine. Beds were comfy we didnt cook but it had plenty of things for that. Quiet neighborhood but i had to clean the little bathroom before my aunt coild use it because it had mold in it. Other than that the house was nice.

Satisfaction

This house was amazing. Most comfortable beds and sofas. No dining room table or chairs but that was ok the bar and stools are there to use. All the entire house was decorated. Beautiful and the kitchen all appliances worked perfectly. Thermostat was a little tricky but instructions were in the welcome pamphlet.

Fishing Tournament

Great property and just as advertised. Everything was clean and neat. The showers were hot and good water pressure. The beds were all comfortable. We had quick responses from the owners, answering all of our questions prior to our arrival We were in town for a fishing tournament at Wilson lake and this property was easy to find, 10 minutes from boat ramp and near lots of amenities. Boat parking for two boats took a little time to figure out but was doable. Loved the pew on the front porch. Would stay here again.
